Job Description

  • Build the capacity of Case workers, PSS Facilitators and the community volunteers (CVs) in the identification of beneficiaries in need of specific psychological counselling

  • Assess the beneficiaries’ psychological condition by using psychological tools to detect the vulnerable cases and ensure psychological follow-up.

  • Ensuring individual or group support for identified beneficiaries are created and clear plans are made

  • Support the implementation of structured MHPSS activities for boys and girls, organised in age-appropriate groups with a clear methodology or curriculum to promote mental well-being.

  • Identify appropriate trainings and providing them regular trainings on Mental Health & Psych-Social Support (MHPSS)

  • Actively participate in supervision meetings.

  • Assist in development of referral networks between partners and implementation of referral pathways

  • Monitor Implementing psychosocial activities and providing psychological consultations on regular basis.

  • Work closely with implementing partners to ensure quality implementation and accurate reporting

    Experience

  • A qualified psychologist; or a professional with equivalent proven experience.

  • MHPSS experience is a plus.

  • 2-3 years’ experience in mental health and psychosocial programming for IDPs.

  • Experience working in the Humanitarian context.

    Language:

  • Fluency in English and excellent writing skills.

  • Ability to communicate clearly and sensitively in Kanuri and Hausa an advantage

    Technical Skills

  • Strong analytical, reporting, strategic thinking and planning skills.

  • Strong monitoring and evaluation skills/experience

  • Knowledge of project cycle management.

    Terms and Conditions

  • Contract is for 1 year and renewable according to performance review, with an initial probationary period of three months. The salary will be proportioned to the candidate experience and balanced to the Street Child salary scale.
