Job Description

General

The works Foka Science & Engineering center Coordinator under the Country Director of STEM Synergy and is answerable to him in all respects with the following job description: -

Responsibility

Conduct periodic need assessment to plan and implement training programs for STEM Centers,

Prepare projects to scale up the capacity of the center.

Coordinate and monitor the activities of the center experts.

Prepare and submit reports on the center’s activities

Create and implement resource utilization system.

Ensure the conduct of annual inventory
Liaise with education office and schools to identify their needs.

Work closely with the country director and CTO to plan & implement programs.

Conduct periodic need assessment to identify training needs of STEM Centers ,

Consult the country representative on training need of STEM centers.

Consolidate & Monitor the plans of experts and produce an integrated plan for the center

Ensure the availability of resources for the implementation of the plan

Create a system of controlling mechanism and enforce accountability.

Develop a standard to ensure the availability of quality inputs to ensure high level training capacity which satisfies the training need of STEM Centers.

Develop list of standard equipment for STEM Centers review and update the list of equipment’s jointly to screen or to augment the list of equipment’s.

Prepare specifications for each item of equipment and participate fully in the procurement process.

Check purchased equipment against specifications and packing

list.

Develop safety procedures for all kinds of accidents that can occur in the center

Develop and review programs for the center.

Provide guidance for the development of curricular and co-curricular materials for the different age groups by every expert.

Ensure the development of manuals and guide lines for the different activities by every expert.

Develop and implement science fair program at local and national level.

Test and review both curriculum and program

Develop strategy for experience sharing with similar centers.

Maintain up to date the website of the center

Develop a standard for reporting

Analyze reports submitted by experts and conduct joint review.

Submit periodic report to the country representative as per plan

Job Requirements

Qualifications and training required

At least Diploma in Electronics, Physics 12 years of relevant Experience or Degree in Electronics , Physics 6 years of relevant Experience ,

Key skills for Center Coordinator

Excellent communication skills both orally and in writing

Excellent interpersonal skills

Good IT skills
