Our Client is a Statutory Institution whose mandate as a risk minimiser is to provide a deposit insurance scheme for customers of member institutions and to resolve any institution in respect of which the Corporation is appointed receiver or liquidator.

The Corporation enhances incentives for sound risk management and generally promote the stability of the financial system.

Job Summary

Reporting to the General Manager, Resolution the incumbent will provide support to the divisional head in providing Strategic leadership, operational effectiveness and efficiency of the Resolution Function to enhance depositors’ confidence through prompt and efficient resolution of troubled institutions.

Duties and Responsibilities

The essential duties and responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Participating in the formulation of strategy for liquidation of institutions;
  • Providing leadership and supervision for effective and efficient liquidation and winding up of institutions;
  • Ensuring custody and control of all the institutions’ (Institutions in receivership / liquidation) assets;
  • Tracing, preserving and realizing assets;
  • Supervising timely filing of statutory returns;
  • Updating and maintaining all relevant accounting records;
  • Preparing Board papers
  • Supervising the implementation of the institutions’ (Institutions in receivership / liquidation) budget and cost controls;
  • Receiving, verifying and accepting creditors’ claims and pay dividends as and when funds are available;
  • Investing institutions’ surplus funds as per investment policy
  • Reviewing and presenting cases for consideration by DNARC and the Board;
  • Authorizing payments for institutions in liquidation;
  • Supervising the implementation of Board policies;
  • Liaising with and responding to queries raised by auditors;
  • Engaging debtors in debt negotiation;
  • Preparing for court and attending court as witness for the institutions in liquidation;
  • Supervising the successful implementation of
  • Performance Management System;

    Minimum Qualifications and Experience
  • Six (6) years’ work experience with at least three (3) years in management;
  • Bachelor’s degree in
    any of the following disciplines: Commerce, Finance, Economics,
  • Business Administration or relevant qualification from a recognized institution;
  • Master’s degree in any of the following disciplines: Commerce, Finance; Economics,
  • Business Administration or relevant qualification from a recognized institution;
  • Certificate in Management Course lasting not less four (4) weeks
  • Membership to a relevant professional body;
