State Corporation Manager - Management Accounting Job Vacancies in Kenya


Responsibilities

  • Produce accurate management accounts reports as per defined schedule
  • Participate in the annual budget preparation
  • Maintenance and reconciliation of all the cashbooks with the bank statements as per approved procedures
  • Reconciliation of sub ledger and external systems to general ledger; this process involves the reviewing of all module interfaces to determine valid and accurate posting to the general ledger
  • Prepare a timely general ledger month-end closing according to corporate closing schedule
  • Preparation and coordination of the annual audit schedule in preparation for meeting with the external auditor
  • Close the previous fiscal year and establishment of the general ledger accounts for the upcoming
  • Consolidation of budget inputs, administration, monitoring and control of budget allocation
  • Determine the validity of entries and corrections, evaluating variances, and analyzing the effects of transactions on various account relationships
  • Maintain the journal file, ensure all journals are approved before posting and are sequentially numbered
  • Undertake necessary adjustments in the budget as approved by management from time to time
  • Analyze expenditure variances and investigate the causes
  • Participate in maintaining and updating of assets register
  • Participate in ascertaining proper and optimal control systems and monitoring accurate recording of all financial transactions; and
  • Attend and advice for all enquiries on all management accounting related matters

    Qualifications

  • Six years relevant work experience, three of which must be in management position
    Bachelor degree in Commerce or any other Business related field.
  • CPA (K) / ACCA qualifications
    Membership to ICPAK or ACCA certification
  • Chartered Public Accountant – Kenya (CPA-K) / ACCA, Certified financial analyst, investment (research)
  • Member of professional bodies – ICPAK, ACCA, CFA
  • Good understanding of corporate investments.
  • Ability to analyze financial data and prepare financial reports, statements, and projections.
  • Compliance with Chapter six (6) of the Constitution of Kenya

    State Corporation Manager - Financial Accounting Job Vacancies in Kenya

    Responnsibilities

  • Coordinate the formulation and implementation of sound financial accounting policies, procedures, strategies and systems that ensure effective control and accountability if Corporation resources
  • Ensure compliance with financial and accounting standards and regulations to ensure safety of Corporation assets and resources and resources.
  • Coordinate payment of suppliers and in accordance to the Corporation policies and procedures.
  • Participate in controlling all financial accounting functions, ensuring all expenses are fully and properly accounted for, in accordance with Corporate procedures/guidelines.
  • Ensure safekeeping of cheque books, ensuring established signing authorities are complied with, signing of vouchers and ensuring confidentiality in all financial transactions.
  • Provide operating divisions with suitable guidelines on raising of accounting documents ensuring that all control accounts are reconciled on a monthly basis.
  • Create and maintain all schedules relating to the Corporate financials (Balance Sheet, Income Statement, Cash flow).
  • Identify, deliberate and disclose all contingencies & off-balance sheet transactions & events
  • Provide the necessary information for internal and external audits and conduct financial investigations as necessary.
  • Ensure timely reconciliation of all General Ledger accounts; Ensure that records relating to staff deductions are properly maintained and quarterly statements are maintained and produced ensuring that statutory deductions are paid on due dates.
  • Ensure accurate computation of applicable tax and timely payment of same.
  • Ensure all documentation pertinent to the financials is maintained specifically; Contracts, agreements, minutes.
  • Ensure that a fixed assets register is maintained and that all assets are
    readily identifiable through a unique number for each asset.
  • Ensure that all postings are done in accordance to the IAS and IFRS.
  • Resolve accounting discrepancies and irregularities through continuous management.

    Qualifications

  • Six years relevant work experience, three of which must be in management position
    Bachelor’s degree in commerce or any other Business related field.

    State Corporation Deputy General Manager - ICT Vacancies in Kenya

    Responsibilities

  • Developing, reviewing, updating and overseeing implementation of appropriate ICT policies as per the Strategic plan.
  • Developing annual ICT work plan and monitor its implementation.
  • Managing ICT projects resources.
  • Innovating and intellectual leadership in driving the ICT projects to achieve its output (goals and objectives).
  • Supervising and enhancing staff performance and development through performance management and conducting semi and annual appraisals.
  • Overseeing provision of end-user services, including help desk and technical support services.
  • Overseeing the provision of efficient, reliable and secure ICT services to the Corporation.
  • Overseeing the deployment of relevant ICT tools, maintenance of corporate website and LAN and WAN networks.
  • Negotiating with vendors, outsourcers, and consultants on contracts and service agreements.
  • Overseeing the repair and maintenance of ICT assets (hardware and software).
  • Overseeing Business systems development and improvements.
  • Overseeing the development and implementation of ICT Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery Plans.
  • Developing Business case justifications and cost/benefit analyses for IT spending and initiatives.
  • Practicing IT hardware, software and other IT equipment management.
  • Communicating Management aims and direction.
  • Preparing the ICT budget, manage and oversees its implementation.
  • Conducting benchmarks and ensuring adoption of best practices in the governance of ICT.

    Qualifications

  • At least eight (8) years relevant work experience, three (3) of which should be in a senior managerial position.
  • Masters in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Information Technology or other related fields.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or other related fields.
  • Certifications in Governance Enterprise IT (CGEIT) is a plus.
  • Certificate in Leadership Course lasting not less than four (4) weeks is an added advantage.
  • Proficiency in computer applications.
  • Compliance with Chapter six (6) of the Constitution of Kenya
