Our Client is a Statutory Institution whose mandate as a risk minimiser is to provide a deposit insurance scheme for customers of member institutions and to resolve any institution in respect of which the Corporation is appointed receiver or liquidator.

Job Summary

Reporting to the Manager, Financial Accounting the incumbent will provide support to the departmental head by generating timely Financial Statements, liaising with internal and external auditors, ensuring that Budgets are prepared in time and ensuring that divisional Key Performance Indicators are attained.

Key Responsibilities

The essential duties and responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Preparation of relevant quarterly and annual Financial Statements
  • Preparation of relevant quarterly Performance Contract reports
  • Review bank reconciliations monthly
  • Liaise with both internal and external auditors
  • Budgeting and budget control
  • Monthly review of control accounts
  • Ensure that the Corporation is compliant with tax and other statutory requirements
  • Ensure that all postings to the General Ledger are accurate
  • Regular review of reconciled creditors and debtor’s ledgers

    Minimum Qualifications and Experience
  • Six (6) years relevant work experience preferably in a government agency
  • Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Accounts or business related field;
  • Certified Public Accountant, CPA (K) or ACCA qualification or equivalent qualifications from a reputable institution
  • Membership to a relevant professional body

  • Proficient with Navision AX
  • Conversant with the Government Budgeting Cycle
  • Knowledge of the PFM Act
  • Knowledge of IFRS, IAS and IPSAS
  • Attention to detail skills
  • Analytical skills;
  • Report writing,
  • Presentation skills
  • Compliance With Chapter Six (6) of the Constitution of Kenya

  • Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission
  • Department of Criminal Investigation (Certificate of Good Conduct)

    Professional Qualifications
