Maisha, The Nairobian weekly newspaper, Think Outdoor (billboard advertising), Standard Digital, Farmers TV, KTN Burudani, Spice FM and Vybez Radio.

As part of strengthening our operations, Digital department is looking for a smart, creative and ambitious individual to join the team.

Reporting to Senior Web Developer The incumbent will be responsible for developing applications and server maintenance.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Updating existing products to adapt to the changing technologies.
  • Managing and updating the Standard Digital Web servers.
  • Installing, configuring and managing databases for Standard Digital products.
  • Support Editorial and video team with SEO.
  • Managing and configuring the Standard Digital SMS Platform.
  • Troubleshoot, debug and upgrade existing platforms.
  • Back up files from Web sites to local directories for recovery.
  • Ensure the web server and database server are secure.

    Qualifications and Experience
  • At least 2 years’ experience in
    web development
  • Proficient in PHP, JQuery, HTML5, CSS and Web Service
  • Experience with large-scale distributed storage and database systems (SQL or NoSQL, e.g. MySQL, MongoDB)
  • Strong knowledge of mobile payment gateways.
  • Experience working in Unix/Linux environments.
  • Bachelors’ degree in Computer Science

  • High degree of independent judgment.
  • Dedicated team player.
