The joint CEO's are responsible for leading the development and execution of the bank’s strategy, overseeing planning and management, upholding high standards of governance and corporate citizenship, accounting to all our stakeholders, and ensuring that we deliver value to our shareholders, customers and staff.


A Product Designer (UI/UX designer)’s job is to design seamless and cohesive digital product user experiences through sophisticated user interfaces that contribute to the positive customer experience of current and prospective customers of Standard Bank Group (SBG).


They are responsible for defining the user problem, conceptualizing the solution and seeing it implemented right through to production and go live.

Furthermore they are required to provide guidance and support to various areas of the enterprise that are responsible for the adoption and use of the solution created.


Responsibilities


Internal relationships

  • Engage with and contribute knowledge, research and support to the wider design community with the aim of creating consistent user experiences across SBG. Collaborate with colleagues across the IT value chain to ensure the production of best in class products.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to help define problem statements.
  • Collaborate with internal business readiness, support and/or marketing teams (as required) to ensure internal understanding and adoption of completed software.

    External relationships

  • Engage with third parties and establish working relationships with them in order to create good customer experiences.
  • Help them understand the customer, existing patterns and guidelines (CI and design system).
  • If required, assist marketing suppliers and agencies with information and assets required for product marketing needs.


    Requirements


  • Higher Certificate in Information Technology
  • 5-7 years in Technology
  • User Experience Qualitative research - The ability to select the appropriate research technique (e.g. Contextual enquiry, interviews, web analytics, market analysis, surveys, etc.) to gather information and deduce findings about the user base, industry, company, and competitors
  • User Experience requirements gathering - The ability to understand how business strategy, decisions, activities, constraints and scope, influence the design process and proposed solution
  • User Interface Design - The ability to
    anticipate what users might need to do and ensuring that the interface has elements that are easy to access, understand, and use to facilitate those actions.
  • Visual Design - The ability to create strategic visual elements with the aim of achieving meaningful aesthetics that support the interface’s content and interaction.
  • User Experience Content Writing - The ability to create content that helps users complete tasks and transactions. The designer should be able to phrase content from the user's perspective rather than the system's perspective. Essentially, having the ability to express complex ideas concisely
  • User Experience Prototyping - The ability to create preliminary models or archetypes of proposed design solutions, in order to demonstrate the anticipated experience, content and interaction
  • User Experience Information Architecture - The ability to organise information by defining hierarchies and labeling schemes that enable users to easily find, understand and manage the information on a digital platform
  • Service Design - Focus is on converting the strategy into reality.
