Standard Bank Tax Compliance & Reporting Manager Jobs in Uganda;The Tax Compliance & Reporting Manager will execute tax processes and services across a dedicated portfolio to minimize risks, ensure compliance, and safeguard the organization against operational losses, fines, penalties, or reputational damage.

The role provides advisory services on tax aspects to enable competitive advantage and compliance with applicable legislation.

Responsibilities

  • Analyse operational activities to identify compliance risks and ensure adherence to tax legislation and internal policies

  • Prepare and review tax returns, computations, regulatory submissions, and management reports

  • Advise business units on tax implications of products, transactions, and operational activities

  • Liaise with tax authorities, auditors, and external stakeholders on tax matters

  • Identify opportunities for efficiency through process optimisation, automation, and data analytics

  • Provide training to Business, Finance, and other stakeholders on tax technical matters

    Qualifications

    Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, Commerce, or Statistics

  • Professional qualifications such as ACCA, CPA, or Chartered Tax Adviser (CTA) are an added advantage

    Experience

  • Minimum 4–5 years’ experience in tax compliance, risk management, audits, and advisory within Banking/Financial Services

  • Working knowledge
    of SAP, Finacle, and Microsoft Office (advanced Excel)

  • Experience leveraging automation and data analytics tools to streamline processes and enhance reporting

  • Sound knowledge of direct and indirect taxes applicable to banking operations
