Job Purpose

  • To lead the messaging, positioning and development of a broad range of content across a variety of channels and digital communications in order to support and enable the execution of the wider experience design mandate.

    Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities

    Strategy

    • Provide insight into the design, management and implementation of relevant policies,processes and systems in order to facilitate the management of risks.

    • Implement and take responsibility for all tasks associated with ensuring successful implementation of the Experience Design strategy for SBG within the area of specialisation.

    • Collaborate with other Business Units to share learnings and best practices and contribute to knowledge sharing and implementation of best practices. Act as a trusted adviser for designacross the Group and stakeholders.

    • Provide input into operational plans and the practical application thereof, to ensure thatoperational plans are clearly articulated and understood.

    Product

    • Implement design changes of a moderately complex nature to products in line with Business Lines / Corporate Functions specifications so that the product may serve the business need more effectively.

    • Contribute to the improvement of product design methodologies through the analysis of data to inform customer insights and customer journeys.

    • Assess and optimise the performance of new and existing content by conducting or participating in content audits and interpreting analytics data to track the success of the content.

    • Keep abreast of industry developments and enhance experience design skills to meet the evolving needs of customers.

    People

    • Lead Experience Design Teams according to the Bank's leadership principles and values, including employee lifecycle from recruitment through to exit, performance management, training and development, discipline and grievance management, retention and reward andpeople administration, to ensure a high performance culture.

    • Represent the business area in industry working groups and committees so that a positive image of the organisation and business unit is created and maintained.

    • Provide ad-hoc advice, assistance, coaching and/ or mentoring to team mates so that their developmental needs are identified and met.

    • Delegate authority and responsibility, in line with business objectives, to ensure the empowerment, motivation and effectiveness of all
    direct and indirect reports.

    • Build and develop relationships across the different internal IT teams and with various stakeholders so that the business.

    Technology & Architecture

    • Utilise the approved technologies employed by the Experience Design team to meet work

    • outcomes, and identify how technologies can be applied differently to enhance the delivery of tasks.

    • Maintain knowledge of local and global industry design technologies and architecture

    • enhancements with the aim of improving design delivery within SBG.

    Client

    • Develop moderately complex design solutions through a solid understanding of device and ecosystem platforms to assure good customer experience by utilising various design and research methods to understand customer needs, friction points and decision-making processes.

    • Apply and contribute to the approved design standards in consultation with Business Lines / Corporate Functions to ensure consistency and alignment of design.

    • Analyse user needs and develop deep user insights so that direction may be provided in the development of moderately complex solutions that are user-centric and aligned to business goals, ensuring that the solution is fit for customer.

    Data

  • Adhere to IT Experience Design data policies in line with Standard Bank Group (SBG) data standards so that quality data is consistently and appropriately stored, used and managed.

    Financial Management

    • Adhere to Group minimum standards for vendor selection and participate in the selection of the most appropriate vendor with required expertise.

    • Receive financial records of payments received from stakeholders regarding matters pertaining to IT Experience Design. Engage in the invoicing of clients and other stakeholders so that monies owed are paid timeously where necessary.

    Preferred Qualification and Experience

    Qualification

    • First Degree in Information Studies

    • Visual arts; Content writing certification

    Experience

  • 5-7 years Demonstrated workplace experience within the area of specialisation with evidence of contribution to the experience design practice.

  • Total number of years’ experience: 7 years
