    Job Purpose

  • To provide strategic architectural direction for information and data management to PBB SA in order to deliver better data quality and data asset utilisation.

    Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities

    Architectural Requirements Analysis

  • Identifies user data and information requirements by researching and analysing user needs, preferences, objectives, and working methods in order to inform an appropriate architectural landscape.

  • Determines how data and information is obtained, labelled and categorised through metadata standards, in order to use and extract data more effectively.

    Information architecture design

  • Plans information architecture by studying the data architecture design to deliver and prepare information architectural scheme which includes:

  • information structure and features;

  • functionality and user-interface design;

  • creating user scenarios;

  • reviewing data models;

  • designing information structure, work-and dataflow, and navigation;

  • evaluating information representation.

  • Translates strategic requirements into usable information architecture which may include a data model, associated metamodeling; common business vocabulary, ontologies and taxonomies to assist solution architects.

  • On demand, reviews the data management artefacts (data models, metadata and data management processes) and analytic solutions to ensure alignment with approved architectural standards in support of application development.

  • Improves business performance through developing information / data solutions, such as master data management, metadata management, business intelligence, content management, data interoperability, analytics, data integration and related information infrastructure components.

  • Establishes the architecture and frameworks that facilitate access and flexible sharing and exchange of information across the Group.

    Assessing systems against information architecture

  • Validates information delivery of the systems (new and existing) that support the information Ecosystem (e.g., data management, CIA, Measurement, etc.) by:

  • developing and completing information accuracy test plans;

  • evaluating and assessing the quality of the data rules;

  • assessing quality rules;

  • application of data quality rules;

  • reviewing the output on application of the data / quality rules;

  • linking business rules to data rules;

  • establishing standard practices for management of data rules and quality rules.

    User interface and user experience design

  • Informs positive user experience by planning and designing the information structure for workflows, internal applications, user interfaces and reports across the information ecosystem delivered through new and existing systems landscapes.

    Providing architectural guidelines

  • Coordinates and works with internal information technology projects, business information projects, development and support teams to implement their strategies.

  • Liaises with all appropriate architectures across the Group to agree on an integrated architecture containing consistent technical, infrastructure and information solutions with optimal functional delivery and best option from total cost of ownership aspect

    Leadership,
    recommendations and guidelines


  • Formulates business plans, including business drivers, goals and objectives to steer the information architectural design.

  • Provides input and thought leadership on the enhancement and implementation of information architecture in conjunction with the Group Information Management strategy.

  • Steers the metadata management and repository strategy to manage the data asset.

  • Identifies standards (what goes where, what means what, and who is allowed to do what) and frameworks (how information flows and is stored/secured) as necessary to achieve the envisioned information architecture.

  • Oversees the analysis and design of the data stored by information systems.

  • Focusses on entities, their attributes and their inner-relationships and recommends information structures, along with roles, responsibilities and reporting lines, necessary to design, implement and sustain the organization's information architecture.

  • Recommends standards and best practices related to information development.

  • Communicates and implements information architecture for organizational data quality by embedding data quality standards.

    Assessment of information systems

  • Understands, researches, reviews and analyses available functional aspect of the technologies in area of information systems and assesses the vendor solution (pros and cons).

  • Analyses the solution from perspective of development effort to support, understands the functional modules of different solution and assist organization in making decision around the selection of suite versus module.

  • Provides integration effort estimates, evaluates and recommends potential technologies 'tools, hardware and software' to accomplish the organization's information management goals.

  • Recommends either an appropriate internally developed option or the use of an externally available technical solution.

    Data maintenance oversight

  • Unpacks data structure embedded in applications.

  • Unpacks internally developed codes in different areas in the bank in order to recommend information standard amendments to minimise duplications and mitigate impact on customer.

  • Unpacks product / system features and assesses their development from the perspective of continuous maintenance of information quality and value.

    Unstructured information / semi structured information

  • Provides thought leadership in initiatives including Enterprise Content Management (ECM), storage of the scanned documents, unstructured data, application development, technical writing and user interfaces.

  • Guides taxonomy development and management, Optical Character Recognition and other unstructured-to-structured conversion technologies.

  • Analyses inter-relationships between various domains of enterprise information, including master data, metadata, operational data, unstructured data and analytical data to create visible data flows.

    Preferred Qualification and Experience

  • IT and Computer Sciences Degree

  • Business Commerce Degree

  • MBA is an advantage

  • Business Analysis

  • Technical Qualification such as SAS, etc.

  • 7-10 years Experience in Software Development Lifecycle and successful project implementation.

  • General knowledge of the operating model for Personal and Business Banking. Experience in implementation and delivery of architectural artefacts including TOGAF, SOA, SAS and other architectural frameworks. Experience in managing diverse teams. Knowledge of developments and best practices in the market and relevant associations of recognised bodies.
