Job Purpose

  • To manage the distribution mix within an allocated region for branches, ATM network, app and internet banking as well any other distribution points.

  • Responsible for the sustainability and profitability of the distribution mix.

    Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities

    Client

    • Ensures that a capability of response (across branch, app, internet banking and devices) is delivered to meet customer demand at distribution level by ensuring that empirical customer data enables the front line to meet customer demand.

    • Provides objective feedback to line management and centre on client feedback (sensing).

    • Responsible for all client level exit pricing within the devolved mandate.

    • Together with Marketing co-create solutions to focus on clients which are locally relevant and in line with the provincial objectives.

    • Manages operational effectiveness and efficiencies for the distribution channel by acting on system conditions.

    • Drives the implementation and roll-in of strategic business transformation programs. Financial Management

    • Develops and drives appropriate client tactics at distribution level to ensure that income statement and balance sheet objectives are achieved as guided by the explicit boundaries of client level pricing and profit hurdles.

    • Develops and drives short and medium-term goals and objectives for the area in support of the overall provincial objectives. Risk Reg Prudential & Compliance

    • Responsible for all risk and compliance management for the local market.

    • Ensures that the necessary quality assurance takes place in the front line.

    • Ensures the implementation of timeous annual credit reviews
    and deals any escalations

    • Act and performs as Key Individual (KI) as specified in the FAIS act.

    • Drives satisfactory audits and ensures that there are no repeat unsatisfactory findings as gauged by operational losses.

    • Ensures that new methods are explored and adopted in response to changing conditions People

    • The team consists of a combination of Cash roles, Digital roles, Universal Bankers level 1,2, and 3, Leader of Teams Level 1 and 2

    • Sets the example and leads the team in line with the Group’s leadership identity, core values and People Promise.

    • Enables integrated ways of working and collaboration across the value chain to deliver for the client.

    • Inspires the team to deliver on the Group’s shared purpose and instilling a culture which enables the Group to evolve into a client led platform organisation.

    • Ensures alignment to the People and Culture standards with regards to all employee-related matters.

    • Provides input into talent strategy developed by People and Culture.

    • Identifies current and potential employee skill requirements in consultation with the People and Culture function.

    Preferred Qualification and Experience

  • First Degree Commerce

  • Relevant FAIS qualification

  • 10+ Years FAIS qualification and experience. Previous experience within a branch environment – managing a branch. Managing an income statement and pricing management.
