Standard Bank Group Data Engineer Jobs in Kenya

Job Objective

Provide technical leadership in the design, delivery, and continuous evolution of enterprise data architecture, data platforms, and AI engineering capabilities. Establish scalable, secure, and governed data foundations, engineer high‑quality data products, and support advanced analytics, machine learning, and generative AI use cases. Ensure alignment with enterprise architecture standards, governance requirements, security controls, and strategic technology objectives.

Qualifications

  • First Degree in Information Technology, Mathematics, Statistics, Business Commerce, or related discipline.

  • Relevant professional certifications in cloud data platforms, data architecture, data engineering, data science, machine learning, or AI engineering an advantage.

    Experience Required

  • 8–10 years’ experience in building databases, warehouses, reporting, and data integration solutions.

  • Experience building and optimising big data pipelines, architectures, and datasets.

  • Experience creating and integrating APIs.

  • Experience performing root‑cause analysis on data and processes to identify improvement opportunities.

  • Deep understanding of data pipelining, performance optimisation, and integration patterns.

  • Proficiency in SQL, PL/SQL, SPARK, and appropriate data tooling.

  • Experience with data pipeline and workflow management tools.
