Job Purpose Provides consolidated, high level analysed segment reporting, through insights that reflect the state of the Youth Segment and track the Group’s performance against its strategic objectives. To build, analyse and create measures to display a more digitized form of data through dashboards.
Key Responsibilites
Delivery of Strategic Insights
Ensures that the critical insights needed to develop and manage successful business strategies for the youth segment is available
Analyses and confirms validity of the customer segmentation parameters
Provides input into the customer value proposition (CVP) to enable a clearly defined approach to product offering, pricing, servicing, channel and contact strategies
Root Cause-Analysis
Analyses information received to spot exceptions or trends from different sources and conducts required in-depth analytics to ascertain the reason for the exceptions, anomalies or trends
Determines root-causes to business problems through the analysis of customer data, using data-mining techniques and statistical analysis
Communicates findings of root-cause analysis to relevant stakeholders and recommends solutions
Data Mining & Analytics
Sources management information to guide the development of an appropriate youth customer segment-channel strategy
Analyses and reviews reports, received from Finance and/or CIA, on the performance to identify areas / opportunities requiring further focus or that should receive less focus
Determines a reporting format aligned to key performance measures
Effective Risk Management
Adheres to policies, regulations and standard operating procedures, and understands why they exist
Drives business success while adhering to
governance policies and compliance requirements. For example, protects sensitive data and does not distribute it externally.
Understands and operates within defined procedures and internal processes, standard operating and policies. For example, adheres to the designated process for requesting data from MIS and measurement teams.
Effective Stakeholder Management
Presents comprehensive information to key stakeholders at an appropriate level of relevant detail to facilitate insight and decision making
Translates the value propositions into actionable activation strategies, in conjunction with the sub-segment manager and the relevant business unit
Ensures SLAs negotiated with business are met, in terms of quality of data and turnaround time, prioritising where necessary to meet short-terms requirements.
Qualifications
Business or Commerce Degree
3+ years’ experience in data analysis and insights development.
Previous experience in a segment or insight roles, with Teradata, SAS, SQL knowledge is an advantage.
