St. Lukes Orthopaedics & Trauma Hospital Resident Obstetrician & Gynecologist Jobs in Kenya; To provide comprehensive specialist obstetric and gynaecological care, ensuring high‑quality, safe, and evidence‑based clinical services to women across the continuum of reproductive health. The successful candidate will provide leadership in women’s health, support multidisciplinary teams, and contribute to continuous quality improvement within the hospital.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

  • Provide specialist outpatient and inpatient obstetric and gynaecological services.

  • Diagnose and manage normal and high‑risk pregnancies.

  • Conduct antenatal, intrapartum, postpartum, and postnatal care.

  • Perform elective and emergency obstetric and gynaecological surgical procedures (Caesarean sections, hysterectomies, laparotomies, laparoscopic procedures, and other major/minor surgeries).

  • Manage obstetric and gynaecological emergencies in line with national and international guidelines.

  • Conduct infertility assessments and provide management or referrals.

  • Diagnose and manage benign and malignant gynaecological conditions.

  • Supervise labour ward, maternity, theatre, and gynaecology ward services.

  • Participate in multidisciplinary ward rounds and clinical meetings.

  • Interpret diagnostic investigations including ultrasound, laboratory, and radiology.

  • Ensure accurate clinical documentation, patient records, and medico‑legal reports.

  • Mentor and supervise Medical Officers, Clinical Officers, Nurses, and interns.

  • Participate in audits, mortality reviews, CME, and quality improvement initiatives.

  • Promote infection prevention, patient safety, and ethical medical practice.

  • Participate in emergency response and on‑call roster.

  • Undertake any other duties assigned by hospital management.

    Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBChB).

  • Master of Medicine (MMed) in Obstetrics & Gynaecology or equivalent specialist qualification recognized
    in Kenya.

  • Specialist recognition and registration with KMPDC.

  • Valid Annual Practising Licence.

  • Fellowship qualification (COSECSA, RCOG, or equivalent) is an added advantage.

  • Minimum 3 years’ post‑specialization clinical experience in a busy Level 4–6 hospital.

  • Certification in BLS and Advanced Life Support in Obstetrics is an added advantage.
