Job Overview: Southrift Hospital is looking for a professional, goal oriented, organized, reliable and self-driven general nurse to join our multidisciplinary team. The successful candidate will be responsible to ensure an outstanding patient experience while providing the highest quality services.

Job Description

1. Complete head to toe assessment and re-assessment of patients to identify their care needs

2. Develop written care plans based on patients’ needs, monitor and evaluate effectiveness of interventions

3. Carry out hemodynamic monitoring to include vital signs, neurological and fluid status; labs and radiological evaluations

4. Document all assessment data, investigation results, care given, discussions with the multidisciplinary team, family/patient interactions in an accurate, comprehensive and timely manner

5. Administer medication safely, monitor patient responses to medication and promptly report adverse reactions.

6. Ensure proper and safe disposal of clinical and non-clinical waste.

7. Prepare for and assist other medical professionals to perform various procedures.

8. Carry out pre and post-operative care for the surgical patient

9. Handle emergency situations and escalating them promptly and effectively.

10. Identify patient and family education needs and implement appropriate teaching

11. Provide safe environment for patients through adherence to infection control practices and other safety policies.

12. Participate in quality improvement initiatives

13. Care for equipment through cleaning, storage, per shift check of the inventory and timely reporting and follow up of nonfunctional equipment to the nurse manager.

14. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care.

15. Participate in unit based nursing education, quality improvement (QI) projects, audits, spot checks and skill checks

16. Any other duties as may be assigned by your supervisor.
