Brief Description

  • The purpose of this position is to lead the execution of a digital learning and development strategy for the South African Reserve Bank Group (SARB), which is underpinned by learning and development best practice, blended learning principles, creative and cost-effective digital learning solutions (such as e-learning, digital learning, social learning platforms, mobile learning and video learning), in support of the SARB’s strategic objectives and business requirements.

    Detailed Description

    The successful candidate will be responsible for the following key performance areas:

  • Manage the entire digital and e-learning value chain to ensure that learning design gaps and business-specific learning needs are addressed.

  • Work collaboratively with the learning and development teams and business leads to produce high quality business outcomes through emerging instructional methods and technologies.

  • Integrate classroom-based and digital learning methodologies to ensure a blended approach to learning and development delivery, and to enhance the learning process in support of digital transformation and the evolving ways of work.

  • Engage with vendors and other internal and external stakeholders displaying a service orientation in own work and the ability to solicit information as well as to convey and explain information fluently.

  • Apply and facilitate change management strategies in order to increase levels of buy-in and understanding.

  • Provide
    mentorship and on-the-job coaching within the SARB Academy in order to develop the internal digital learning skills set.

  • Manage and maintain the department’s intranet and internet sites.

  • Manage the provision of digital learning analytics though various reporting mechanisms for the purposes of decision making.

  • Conduct research and stay abreast of cutting edge digital learning technology developments, differentiated learning strategies & methodologies, and integrate them into the new ways of learning.

    Job Requirements

    To be considered for this position, candidates must have:

  • a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology/Computer Science/Learning and Development or an equivalent NQF7 qualification;

  • a minimum of five to eight years of experience in an e-learning and/or technology-enabled learning environment;

  • strong technical skills, including multi-mode instructional designer skills;

  • sound knowledge of Learning Management Systems and learning and development software/digital platforms;

  • project management, research, facilitation, coordination and change management skills to increase levels of buy-in and understanding.

    The following will be an added advantage:

  • a relevant qualification/certificate in digital learning/e-learning.
