Solidarités International MEAL Coordinator Jobs in Nigeria; The MEAL Coordinator will supervise the coordination MEAL team and provide technical management of MEAL Activity Managers in Northeast and Northwest Nigeria. Reporting to the Deputy Country Director – Programs, the role ensures compliance, accountability, and learning across SI’s humanitarian interventions.

Responsibilities
Strategy & Planning

Contribute to multi-year strategy development and annual review.

Coordinate MEAL self-assessments and translate results into key actions.

Support operationalisation of MEAL action plan.

Propose research topics in coordination with technical teams.

Development & Reporting

Consolidate and validate MEAL approaches in proposals.

Review and finalise MEAL sections of project proposals, reports, and change requests.

Programme Monitoring & Quality

Ensure compliance of MEAL approaches with national/international standards.

Support data collection, indicator monitoring, and operational decision-making.

Validate reports, analyses, maps, and recommendations.

Conduct regular field visits.

Accountability

Operationalise accountability principles and complaint management mechanisms.

Ensure confidential, functional, and appropriate feedback systems.

Evaluation & Learning

Plan and frame evaluations, studies, and learning exercises.

Support workshops to capitalise lessons learned.

Coordinate internal/external evaluations and follow-up on recommendations.

Technical Compliance & Internal Control

Deploy MEAL frameworks and procedures across SI response.

Identify compliance breaches and propose corrective measures.

Ensure adequate internal controls and archiving.

Capacity Strengthening & Capitalisation

Develop and implement training plans.

Ensure capitalisation tools are used and shared with HQ.

Oversee centralisation of procedures, guides, and tools.

Coordination & Communication

Participate in technical coordination platforms.

Lead internal coordination of MEAL teams.

Facilitate harmonisation of technical/programmatic considerations.

Management

Analyse HR needs, recruit, and integrate team members.

Evaluate staff performance and provide training/support.

Lead and communicate effectively with team.

Fight

Against Abuse

Create a safe working environment preventing inappropriate behaviour.

Respect SI’s ethical framework and protection of information.

Implement measures to mitigate risk of abuse.

Partnerships

Contribute to verification and strengthening of SI partners.

Support monitoring of partner actions.

Profile

3–4 years relevant experience in NGO/INGO.

Bachelor/Master’s in Statistics, Quality Control, or Humanitarian Project Management.

Fluency in English (written & spoken); Hausa an advantage.

Technical skills: MEAL management, accountability mechanisms, data collection/analysis (Kobo, Power BI), budget management, reporting.

Transversal skills: problem-solving, humanitarian project cycle knowledge, communication, prioritisation, flexibility, team player, training capacity.
