    Goal / Purpose

    The Logistics Manager will implement and supervise all logistics operations at the assigned base, organize support for programs in line with SI procedures, and assist the Field Coordinator in safety rule implementation.

    Description of the Position

    Supply Management

  • Conduct purchasing environment analysis.

  • Supervise updates of price lists and supplier files.

  • Manage SI and donor procurement procedures.

  • Establish and update purchasing timelines.

  • Approve and process requests for quotes and orders.

  • Monitor logistics budget lines.

  • Draft contracts and calls for tenders.

  • Select suppliers and negotiate terms.

  • Archive purchasing documents per SI procedures.

    Vehicle Fleet Management

  • Negotiate rental contracts.

  • Supervise maintenance and repairs.

  • Establish vehicle movement schedules.

  • Ensure breakdown kits are available.

  • Train and test drivers regularly.

  • Monitor fuel consumption and mileage.

  • Prevent misappropriation of fuel/spare parts.

  • Ensure vehicles have proper documentation.

    Equipment / Telecommunications Management

  • Update inventory in real time.

  • Organize installation and safeguarding of materials.

  • Maintain communication systems and train teams.

    IT Equipment Management

  • Update antivirus software.

  • Implement backup and data protection.

  • Provide technical assistance and training.

    Supplies Management

  • Select secure storage sites.

  • Monitor expiration dates and stock procedures.

  • Supervise monthly physical inventories.

    Human Resource Management

  • Recruit, train, and supervise logistics staff.

  • Conduct performance reviews.

  • Organize regular team meetings.

    Security

  • Implement team safety measures.

  • Train teams in safety rules.

  • Share security information with line manager.

    Reporting / Capitalization

  • Compile price and supplier lists.

  • Monitor internal order forms.

  • Consolidate monthly logistics packs.

  • Provide information for reports.

  • Submit purchasing reports for closed programs.

    Profile

    Studies

  • B.Sc. in Logistics, Warehouse Management, Purchasing, Supply Chain Management, or related field.

    Experience

  • 3 years in similar INGO role.

  • 5+ years in humanitarian sector.

    IT Skills

  • MS Word, PowerPoint, advanced Excel.

  • Knowledge of LINK software an advantage.

    Technical Skills

  • Procurement, inventory, asset management, fleet/transport, documentation, reporting, premises management.

    Transversal Skills

  • Rigorous, organized, able to manage workload.

  • Strong communication, team spirit, assertiveness.

  • Attention to detail, stress resistance, reliability, honesty, accountability, proactive.

    Language

  • English mandatory.

  • Hausa an advantage.
