Solidarités International Field Coordinator Jobs in South Sudan; The Field Coordinator will be responsible for the management of project in Ulang. The active projects are heavily focused on emergency and early recovery WASH programming and emergency FSL support. The Field Coordinator has the role of delegated Country Director (CD) for a region of a country in which Solidarités International intervenes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Propose a regional strategy according to the geopolitical and humanitarian context, and ensure its implementation once validated.

  • Check and ensure that projects are carried out in accordance with the Solidarités International charter, respecting all internal and contractual procedures.

  • Mobilize the material and financial resources necessary for programs to run smoothly, and supervise resource management.

  • Coordinate the teams in place and be responsible for their security in the assigned zone.

  • Act as the Country Director’s direct contact and representative.

    Sizing of the Team
  • SI team in South Sudan currently hosts approx. 100 staff (including 18 expats).

  • Sobat team: 3 expats (Field Coordinator, PM, Log‑Adm) + approx. 15 staff.

    Issues and Specific Challenges
  • Operationalize projects delayed by a previous evacuation and slow resumption of activities.

  • Lead engagement with authorities, political stakeholders, communities, NGOs and UN to ensure coordinated approaches.

  • Address security and access concerns in areas experiencing violence.

  • Manage logistical issues linked to access and geographical constraints.

  • Operate with temporary hosting solutions, sharing with another organization.

  • Handle communication challenges in remote locations.

    Priorities in the First 2–3 Months
  • Implement activities, revise the logistics strategy, and resettle in the office/base.

  • Monitor the volatile security situation.

    Security Constraints
  • Risk of open conflict and intra‑communal violence.

  • Risk of revenge killings among the population.

  • Risk of looting and theft.

  • Risk of
    isolation if the river is closed.

  • Elections planned in South Sudan in December 2026.

    Your Profile
  • Master’s degree in humanitarian/development studies, social sciences, management or related discipline.

  • More than 5 years’ experience in the humanitarian sector.

  • 3–4 years’ experience in similar positions.

    Technical Skills
  • Strong understanding of security management.

  • Knowledge in team management and mentoring.

  • Capacity to deal with diverse issues and learn quickly in evolving environments.

  • Good representational skills; ability to liaise with INGOs, agencies, authorities and donors.

    Transversal Skills
  • Ability to work in multi‑cultural environments with strong cultural sensitivity.

  • Willingness to work in volatile security contexts.

  • Ability to take initiatives, decisions, and work autonomously.

  • Strong problem‑solving skills in daily and crisis situations.

  • Flexibility and adaptability.

  • Experience with SI or similar organizations is an asset.

  • Prior experience in South Sudan considered an asset.

  • Excellent stress management.

    Languages
  • Fluent in English, written and spoken.
