Solidaridad Ethiopia country office was established and registered under the Foreign Charities Proclamation in the year 2015.

Solidaridad Ethiopia is currently implementing initiatives in the cotton, textiles, leather and coffee industries in collaboration with the Ethiopian government and private sector.

Position Overview

Main objective of the function

  • The Data Management Analyst is responsible for conducting data analysis to support policy, decisions & actions of internal clients.
  • As an experience, driven and ambitious professional, the position requires a committed person to ensure that the various projects implemented in Ethiopia, have clear collection & management system and realistic measurement plans, based on smart and measurable performance indicators derived from the Theory of Change (result chain) methodology.
  • As Data Management Analyst, your main responsibility is to ensure that internal measurement systems are up to date, data collection is coordinated with field staff and a clear baseline is developed and implemented for each project. In assisting the different commodity experts, you will work closely with all the teams (textiles, coffee, leather, cotton, dairy, gender) and support them in preparing annual reports and ensuring that progress of activities within agreed timelines.

    Organizational position

  • The Data Management Analyst reports to the Ethiopia Country Manager and works closely with the Country Program Team for alignment of procedures relating to result planning and reporting.
  • S/he works closely with regional PME & ICT Innovation Managers in Nairobi and Global Data Management Analyst in Netherlands.
  • S/he facilitates collection and dissemination of information from local to global level.
  • S/he works for processes optimization in such a way that the quality of the service (data analysis) is guaranteed and the employees are permanently able to realize the objectives.

    Roles and Responsibilities

  • Improve the Ethiopian data collection & management system
  • Improve the Ethiopian data collection & management system
  • Data collection, verification and supporting in report writing for all Ethiopia programs.
  • Support in training projects partners on data collection, project monitoring and evaluation.
  • Supports country program managers in the development of proposals, specifically the theory of change and measurement plans.
  • Recommends & establishes software’s applications to perform database analyses
  • Performs selections, analyzes on current activities, and report on the outcomes the
    project’s database/relationship file.
  • Takes care of periodic monitoring & reports and a continuous flow of information according to agreed standards.
  • Advises project managers, target groups, supply, approach and the like based on analyzes.
  • Spends (complex) database analyzes, in consultation, with project teams
  • Coordinates the progress of these assignments and monitors the quality.
  • Identifies and analyzes developments in the organization's database / relationship file and maintains contact with the fundraising team
    Monitors the timeliness of the database / the relation file and identifies backlogs.
  • Solid understanding of relational database design and data warehousing methodologies and multiple RDBMS technologies (Oracle, SQL Server, Postgres and MySQL)
  • Indicates opportunities for improvements in processes concerning data collection, management and the use of database analyzes within the organization
  • Advises the internal client on the optimal design and content of database analysis in relation to the question.
  • Develops standard reports with repetitive questions, possibly in cooperation with project managers
  • Experience with multi-dimensional data modelling
  • Has an active contribution to the continuous quality improvement process for the services in the specific policy area
  • Assist the Country Manager in managing the portfolio of projects and administration pertaining quality management & Salesforce system
  • Prepare budgeting for PME program as well as additional fundraising for M&E
  • Assists in communication related to impacts of the program as well as aspects of PME.
  • Keeps abreast of latest developments in monitoring and evaluation and quality management
  • and introduces them to the organization.
  • Duration: 1 year contract (extension based on performance)

    Job Requirements

    Key Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Statistics, Monitoring & Evaluation, International Development, Economics or a related field
  • Proven knowledge regarding Business Intelligent solutions Advanced analytics and complex tools, data modeling, reports, dashboards
  • At least 5 years of relevant work experience focused project database management on projects in international cooperation
  • Experience with agriculture based & private sector development programs
  • Experience in working with policy makers, researchers, consultants and knowledge brokers in International Cooperation
  • Capable of working in a dynamic, inter-cultural, multi-stakeholder setting
  • Able to travel extensively within Ethiopia and occasional international travel.
  • Excellent communication skills with ability to produce professional reports in English
