Responsibilities

  • Provide peri‑operative nursing care to patients before, during, and after surgical procedures.

  • Assist surgeons and anesthetists during operations, ensuring sterile technique and patient safety.

  • Prepare operating theatres, surgical instruments, and equipment in line with hospital protocols.

  • Monitor patients’ vital signs and respond to emergencies during procedures.

  • Maintain accurate patient records and documentation of surgical procedures.

  • Uphold infection‑control standards and ensure compliance with hospital policies.

  • Support patient recovery and provide post‑operative care.

  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure quality surgical outcomes.

    Qualifications / Work Experience

  • Academic BScN, KRN, or KRCHN qualification.

  • Professional Higher Diploma in Peri‑operative Nursing.

  • Professional Registered with the Nursing Council of Kenya (NCK).

  • Professional Valid NCK practising licence.

  • Professional Minimum of four (4) years’ experience as a Registered Nurse.

  • Professional At least two (2) years’ progressive experience in a busy Operating Theatre environment.
