Job Description

Sodo-Buee Child and Family Development Charitable Organization (SBCFDCO) is a Community Based, non-governmental, not for profit, non-religious and discriminations free, Indigenous and legally registered Ethiopian resident charity organization that exists to help the Deprived, Excluded and Vulnerable children become productive, confident, responsible citizens, parents and leaders of tomorrow.

The Organization has been implementing in three core life stage programmatic areas, namely:-Life Stage1-Early Childhood Development (ECD), Life stage2-Basic Education, and Life stage3-Youth Development programs in partnership with ChildFund Ethiopia.

The Organization wants to fill the currently vacant position of “Sponsor Relations Officer” with qualified and experiences enriched individual who fulfils the following requirements:-

Job Summary:

The Sponsor Relations Officer provides guidance and evaluates sponsorship activities, monitors systems while emphasizing on quality and continuous improvements. Also provides direct facilitation and training of trainers to Sponsor Relations Assistant, Community Development Facilitators and Volunteers.

The Sponsor Relations Officer acts as the primary communication link between the donor agency and SBCFDCO for coordination and submission of sponsorship operational and strategic plans as well as progress reports.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Building staff capacity for success in the organization's sponsorship function through performance management, training, coaching and directing staff as necessary in compliance with sponsor relations policy and procedures.
  • Serves as branding and visibility ambassador for the organization, strategically approach alumni groups of the organization and manage related information and activities;
  • Developing and monitoring systems to ensure continuous quality improvement utilizing all relevant technologies to enhance productivity and quality assurance
  • Visiting program sites to randomly monitor sponsorship administration activities regularly to ensure that enrolled children are receiving support in compliance with organization and donor agency policies, procedures and to support the quality assurance and timeliness of sponsor relation activities
  • Randomly reviewing correspondence to ensure that standards (quality, correctness, content and translation) are met. Ensure responses to sponsor inquiries that are prompt, accurate and detail,
  • Make sure that all enrolled children personal files, correspondence and inventory logbooks and all SR related documents maintained securely and timely updated at all site and main office levels;
  • Closely work with and support SR assistant, Community development Field Supervisor, Community Development facilitators,
  • Translators, Volunteers, Youth and Child forum members in relation to SR operations;
    SR budgeted activities implementation and timely reporting
  • Facilitate and monitor CVS data collection, documentation analysis and report generation as well as
    take actions for survey results;
  • Ensure child enrollment quota maintenance at all site and organization levels
  • Follow-up timely update of children eligibility criteria;
  • Monitor and lead the functionality and appropriateness of child letter writing and skill development centers,
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

    Terms of Employment: One year with possibility of extension based on performance.

    Job Requirements

  • Minimum Requirements and Educational Background:

    Educational qualification:

  • BA/B.Sc degree in Social Science/English Language/Psychology/Sociology/Social Work/Education

    Experience:

  • Proven work experiences of Minimum with 4 years of experience;
  • NGO Experience preferred;

    Skills Required:

  • Understanding of community development programs and experience in a sponsorship role are an asset
  • Excellent skills in group facilitation, training, training of trainers, capacity building, coaching/mentoring, and negotiating in a challenging environment. Experience as a child protection officer is an asset;
  • Project planning, organizational, management, monitoring and evaluation skills;
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written (particularly written grammar, sentence structure and flow) with the ability to speak and write fluently in English and relevant local language(s);
  • Strong Microsoft Office computer skills: Word, Excel, Photoshop; intermediate experience with customized databases;
  • Be results-oriented, deadline-driven, self-starter; follow up on expectations and action items;
  • Excellent interpersonal, relationship-building and conflict management skills with the ability to influence partners. Besides,

  • Computer Literate and have practical skills of Microsoft Word, Excel

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in both Amharic and English Languages;
