Social Impact Chief of Party Jobs in Uganda


Introduction

Social Impact is a global development management consulting firm. We provide monitoring, evaluation, and capacity building services to advance development effectiveness.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as principal responsibility for management of all aspects of the contract and serve as the primary point of contract with USAID/Uganda on day-to-day implementation and management issues;
  • supervising the work of all personnel assigned to tasks under the Contract.
  • Provide strategic vision and overall leadership, and ensuring the provision of timely, relevant, high quality services from both in-Uganda long-term staff and incoming short-term consultants.
  • Ensure timely information on the progress and status of all activities, including but not limited to the timely delivery of required reports in forms agreed to with USAID/Uganda; and ensure the USAID-compliance and integrity of Contract operations.
  • Conceptualize, deliver, and arrange for the delivery of high-quality evaluation, monitoring and learning interventions for USAID/Uganda, its IPs and other stakeholders.

    Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree in related subject.
  • Minimum seven years of experience in the design and management of MEL activities at a senior leadership level, including providing technical oversight and assistance across a portfolio of projects.
  • 10 years of experience in a management position, preferably with at least three years of experience managing USG-issued contracts or otherwise demonstrated knowledge of USG Federal Acquisition Requirements.
  • Demonstrated ability to build trustful relationships with USAID/Uganda senior staff and leadership, including the Mission Director’s Office.
  • Considerable experience in organizational capacity development, knowledge management as well as managing group dynamics and high-performing teams.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience overseeing diverse teams of international and local staff.
  • Significant experience working with USAID Missions on project designs and the program cycle.
  • Experience living and working in developing country environments, preferably sub-Saharan Africa.
  • Fluency in spoken and written English.

    Social Impact Director of Collaboration and Outreach Jobs in Uganda

    Responsibilities

  • Oversee the Contractor’s events planning, facilitation, note-taking and related services.
  • Work with the Director of Performance Improvement to strengthen the collaboration and networking skills of USAID/Uganda staff.
  • Support USAID/Uganda’s thought-leadership efforts by strengthening USAID/Uganda relationships with Ugandan thought leaders and influence shapers, with the Ugandan media, and with actors in regional and international development fora.
  • Ensure that USAID/Uganda-supported STIP grants are achieving results and adhering to best practices in transparency, accountability and grants management.
  • Ensure that USAID/Uganda-supported STIP grants are, as much as possible, co-financed by private sector, other donor and other partners.
  • Strengthen USAID/Uganda’s efforts to integrate innovation throughout its portfolio.

    Qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree in communications or a related field.
  • Eight years of direct experience of communications, partnership-building, and/or grants management.
  • Three years of experience managing communications, partnership-building, and/or grants management staff.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of and experience with setting up and managing cutting-edge communication tools, such as social media platforms, interactive websites, etc.
  • Preferably, demonstrated skills and experience in building partnerships with private sector and other donors.
  • Preferably, three years’ experience living and working in developing country environments.
  • Quality past performance references relevant to the position.

    Social Impact Director of Learning Jobs in Uganda

    Responsibilities

  • Provide vision and leadership to the “learning” agenda.
  • Ensure the quality, timeliness and technological sophistication of services related to improving the integrity and usefulness of USAID/Uganda monitoring and reporting systems.
  • Ensure the quality, relevance, technological sophistication and timeliness of contractor-provided evaluations, analyses and assessments.
  • Deepen USAID/Uganda’s existing learning capabilities and introduce improved avenues to learning.
  • Lead contractor contributions to USAID/Uganda’s efforts to deliberately draw contextual, programmatic and operational learning from its monitoring, evaluation, analytical and assessment efforts.
  • Facilitate learning’s transformation into adapting.
  • Ensure the USAID-compliance and integrity of learning operations.

    Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in international development, strategic planning, project design and implementation, monitoring and evaluation methodologies, or a related field.
  • Eight years of direct experience developing and managing monitoring systems and/or conducting social science research.
  • Five years of experience managing staff conducting monitoring and/or research efforts.
  • Demonstrated skills and experience in statistics and computational analysis.
  • Preferably, three years’ experience living and working in developing country environments.
  • Quality past performance references.
  • Fluency in written and spoken English required.
