SNV Ethiopia is looking for dynamic, experienced, talented, energetic, flexible, open and ready to learn candidates for a Procurement and Administration Coordinator position for its operation.

The main job Purpose of the Procurement and administrative officer/Coordinator are:

  • Liaison between the project and the SNV-Ethiopia back-office in terms of procurement and Administrative related activities
  • In cooperation with the project staff and the procurement department, ensure all procurement is completed timely and adequate (value for money). This covers a few hundreds of items per year; mostly agricultural inputs and materials as well as teaching materials for universities. Follow up on the printing of extension materials.
  • Support all senior staff members of the project with the documentation of items purchased by the project and delivered to beneficiaries (ministry, A-TVETs, universities, etc.) and setup a system to track all items bought and distributed by the project.
  • Ensure that the
    project has a complete inventory of all items bought, based on the SNV-Ethiopia system.
  • Set up a tracking system for all contracts that Horti-LIFE signed (some 40) with different partners and monitor the progress (in terms of reporting and administration)
  • Monitoring the budget depletion of Horti-LIFE and raise any possible delay with the project manager.
  • Together with the project manager design the budget for a next project phase.
  • Compile the annual expenditure report, together with the SNV-Ethiopia finance team & team leader. One element is to check whether all expenditures are posted correctly.

    Job Requirements

    Education:

  • A relevant MSc degree (or equivalent like a BSc with a lot of of experience). This means MBA /Administration / Finance /Procurement
  • Solid knowledge of administrative procedures in Ethiopia

    Work Experience:

  • Minimum of 10 years of work experience in administration
  • Broad experience in project budgeting and procurement
  • Some knowledge of agricultural materials is an advantage

  • Fluent in English and local languages
