Within the Energy sector, SNV is a facilitator of commercially viable markets for renewable energy products and services for households and SMEs.


We provide advisory services to private, public and non-governmental organizations for improved access to energy for underserved populations within rural, peri-urban as well as urban areas.


Responsibilities


  • The consultant will report to and support the Project Manager through day to day implementation and management of the solar RBF beneficiaries including progress monitoring and reporting. More specifically, the consultant will:

  • In collaboration with GIZ, negotiate with selected beneficiaries and facilitate the contracting process.
  • Collection, review and validation of beneficiary sales data, progress reports and incentive claims.
  • In collaboration with GIZ, support the independent verification process.
  • Support the beneficiary incentives payment process.
  • In collaboration with GIZ, provide technical and backstopping support to contracted beneficiaries.
  • Participating in project meetings and providing inputs to enhance project delivery and achievement of results.
  • Contribute to planning and ensure proper, high quality and speedy implementation of the project.
  • Provide inputs for preparation of periodic project reports.
  • Documenting the lessons learnt in the implementation of the project and contribute to knowledge development and
    deployment.
  • Any other duties as may be assigned by the Project Manager.


    Qualifications


  • Minimum of Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field namely Marketing, Commerce, Business Management or International Trade.
  • Candidates with Master’s Degree in the relevant field will have an added advantage.

    Skills and Work Experience:

  • A minimum of two years’ experience in development, implementation and management of results-based financing (RBF) or other grant-oriented transactions.
  • A minimum of two years’ experience in the off-grid solar market in Sub Saharan Africa, ideally including PAYG solar.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills both and English.
  • Good Interpersonal and Negotiation skills.
    Planning and organizing skills.
  • Be a team player that motivates and supports other members.

  • These activities will be undertaken for a period of 10 months, from September 2018 to June 2019.
