Responsibilities


Working directly with the CCAK Secretariat Executive Officer, and closely with SNV, the consultant will support delivery of:


Clean cooking sector study


  • Review documents, organize meetings and participate in review meetings and field work on behalf of the EO.

    Annual national clean cooking forum

  • Conceptualise and undertake the clean cooking forum with identified partner (s)

    Quarterly newsletters

  • Develop visibility/publicity materials for CCAK including quarterly newsletter, editing the CCAK website and social media pages, brochures and banners
  • Collect material and data for the newsletter, edit materials from the interns

    Donor round table meeting

  • Contact participants, laisse with the EO and SNV to organize the event

    Operational duties

  • Support the Executive Officer in writing reports to the donors
  • Support in the recruitment of new members
  • Supervise CCAK trainings implemented by other service providers
  • Represent CCAK in meetings when called upon to do so

    Information, education and communication (IEC) materials

  • Develop reports, fact sheets, policy brief and pamphlets for advocacy from various surveys undertaken by CCAK
  • Influence policy makers at County and National Government on clean cooking and its importance

    Implementation of Advocacy activities

  • Carry out synergised advocacy campaigns including organising member services meetings/workshops to disseminate information to CCAK members and other partners on clean cooking, clean fuels, policies and standards
  • Any other duties assigned by the EO


    Deliverables

  • Two quarterly newsletters
  • Annual clean cooking forum held and a report prepared
  • Quarterly reports to RVO
  • Clean cooking sector study prepared
    and validated
  • Donor round table meeting held and report prepared
  • Advocacy reports prepared
  • Media supplement on sector study
  • IEC materials developed and disseminated


    Qualifications


  • Bachelor’s degree or its equivalent in a field relevant to the CCAK mission (Natural Resource Management, renewable energy, rural development, Environmental studies etc.
  • At least 3 years’ of work experience in the renewable or household energy sector focusing on business development support
  • At least 3 years’ experience in monitoring and evaluation and project management
  • At least 3 years’ experience in knowledge management and development of communication materials
  • Good understanding of the principal issues facing urban, peri-urban and rural low-income communities in the field of household energy
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written in English and Kiswahili
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to represent the CCAK brand
  • The right candidate will be a motivated “self-starter” who can proactively look at how he or she can contribute to the organisation and help it grow, have an attention to detail and work as part of a team.
