Under DGIS, strategic framework, SNV is partner with International Food Policy Research Institute (IFPRI) implements the Voice for Change Partnership (V4CP), a multi-country and multi-sector programme focussing on evidence based advocacy to improve the enabling environment.


The project aims to strengthening capacities of CSOs to advocate for a conducive enabling environment in WASH, Renewable Energy, Food and Nutrition Security, and Resilience.

The main areas of intervention in each of the sectors are


Strengthening of CSO capacities


  • Capacity development program strengthens capabilities in the field of leadership, thematic knowledge, advocacy and business development.


    Evidence creation and dissemination


  • Capacity building in making use of evidence and data by contextualising results of research, availing knowledge products and facilitating access to on-line platforms.


    Support to advocacy plans and activities of CSOs


  • CSOs will be supported in the design and implementation of advocacy plans.


    Job Description



    As part of the Capacity Development, the project would like to involve professional coaches in order to support leadership and organizational development to contribute to high performing and sustainable CSO entities. The coach will undertake individual and team leadership coaching for staff and boards as required.


    Indicative coaching areas across CSO is summarised below.


    Leadership (CEO)


  • Embedding strong leadership attitudes and responsive abilities in the organization
    Sustainable leadership and managing stakeholder relationships
  • Leadership development for internal steering on KPIs
  • Pitching the business plan
  • Networking and Resource mobilization

    Organizational development (Boards and Management)

  • Board development
  • Review and developing effective
    and efficient organizational structure address accountability and transparency

    Organization Performance management (Team coaching)

  • Strategy implementation
  • Results based management
  • Strategic management (e.g. positioning for emerging opportunities & increasing business
  • Performance management tools including (balanced score card; measurement and reporting)
  • The coaches will develop a tailor-made plan with the respective CSO leaders contextualized to each CSO needs.


    Qualifications


    The coaches should have the following qualifications:

  • Certified executive or business coach
    Post graduate degree in either MBA, organizational development, social sciences, strategic management, Development studies, organizational psychology
  • Extensive experience with a non-directive approach of coaching professionals (i.e. ability to structure sessions; create rapport; listen and reflect back; create flow by asking open, powerful questions; stimulate commitment to action)
  • In-depth knowledge and understanding of organizational change management
  • Preferably knowledge of and experience with Capacity Development for CSOs
  • Personal attributes include ability to listen, summarize and probe further, to inspire and encourage others (to get the best out of people), personal sensitivity, and creativity
