Job DescriptionCoordinationLiaise on behalf of TIDE with the developers of the DCB tool on the piloting, launching, introduction, training and support services of the tool, incl. with the help desk.
Liaise with the co-funder Agriterra and the end users being cooperatives and extension workers on the same.
Implementation
Operate an interactive farm dashboard with personal pages for each extension worker and make it accessible for the cooperative dairy managers, extension worker and the farmer for each farm.
Create Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to monitor progress for extension workers, and for farms, create and manage personal pages for each extension worker with personalised access and edit rights.
Improve extension worker performance, monitor KPIs of extension worker, monitor KPIs of farms, conduct farm visits and assessments, recommend actions to improve farming practices to be shared with farmers on the farm dashboard for Improve Farm production and profitability.
Use the dashboard to conduct extension worker assessments, collect farmers’ feedback on extension worker and monitor KPIs for Improved extension worker performance.
Use the platforms Application to coach and monitor extension workers competence development and working performance according to KPIs.
Provide targeted coaching to extension workers based on performance assessments by assigning specific reading or tasks to do and monitor if done (downloading and opening of assignment materials).
Support Extension staff/farm advisors-trainers to recruiting new farmers, visit farmers and perform farm KPI assessments and advising farmers, also with guidance materials/video links/SOPs
Be the administrator for field tablets and provide guidance and backstopping on technical specifications. Analyse if the data loaded in there makes sense. Conduct demos of the application package and provide feedback.
Market the App to be used by dairy cooperatives/dairy processors and training organisations active in development, training and education of cooperatives, extension workers and farmers.
Use the platforms App to provide extension workers support to advice and monitor farmers in upgrading their farms’ performance according to farm KPIs.
Use the platforms App to provide dairy managers, extension workers and farmers insight farms in their network, in how farms perform compared to peers and how key farming practices are improved on each farm, and per cluster/zone/extension worker.
Perform farm assessment, farm benchmarking and give practical advice for step by step farm improvement.
Configure the tablets to be able to collect relevant data for M&E unit at TIDE.
Monitoring for learning
Organise quarterly planning and review meetings with coops and cooperative extension workers.
Document
all relevant aspects of the project interventions for learning and sharing.
Organise learning workshops and forums.
Participate in TIDE team meetings and any events and meetings, organized by SNV Uganda.
Coordination
Liaise with the content developers on the development of topics in selected dairy husbandry and management themes for different user groups.
Liaise and coordinate the planning of work of the developers
Liaise with the Ugandan reference group responsible for peer review of the modules and topics developed by the experts.
Implementation
Lead the further population of the E-Dairy Platform for the remaining topics and themes, hand in hand with the developers and the TIDE TEA Unit Head.
Introduce, pilot, promote and upscale the use of the E-Dairy Platform Operate in SW Uganda and beyond.
Initiate and coordinate training of farmers and extension workers for effective use of the E-Dairy Platform.
Assure interaction and interlinking content of the E-Dairy Platform on the Dairy Competence Builder as teaching and training tools for CEOs
Monitoring for learning

Qualifications
Education
University Degree in Agriculture/Animal production, preferably with a specialisation in dairy extension and training.
Practical knowledge in computer science/ICT especially using applications for E-Learning and training.
Experience
At least five years of experience in relevant field of dairy husbandry, dairy extension & training.
Familiar with digital-based information solutions/Apps and platforms, and related software and hardware (tablets, smart phones, laptops and PCs) and internet connectivity band widths
Work experience in a multi-disciplinary team.
Other Requirements
Good verbal and written communication skills in English.
Computer skills (email, word processing, spreadsheets) and software applications.
Excellent skills in teamwork, good coordination and communication.
