Job Summary
Build the operating model and asset management system in parallel with construction so that the Ajaokuta Mini-LNG plant can transition safely from installation through commissioning to first gas.
The role will define maintenance strategies, operating procedures, spare parts requirements, staffing structures, competency requirements, training programs, and handover processes to support reliable operations.
Key Responsibilities
Develop the Operations Readiness Plan, including ownership assignments, deliverables, milestones, and gate criteria through to stable plant operation.
Define the operating organization structure, staffing requirements, competency matrix, shift model, and training needs.
Develop operating philosophy and procedures covering start-up, normal operations, shutdown, emergency shutdown, and isolation processes.
Build and maintain the asset register, criticality assessments, maintenance strategy, job plans, and critical spare parts lists.
Coordinate preservation, tagging, inspection, and storage of received equipment in line with logistics requirements and OEM instructions.
Participate in system walkdowns and review vendor manuals, alarm and trip lists, and handover dossiers.
Establish reliability and performance metrics, inventory control systems, and statutory inspection registers.
Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical, or Instrumentation Engineering.
Minimum of 7 years' experience in operations or maintenance within gas processing, LNG, power generation, or process plant environments.
Demonstrated experience in operational readiness, commissioning, or start-up of new industrial facilities.
Knowledge of Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS), asset integrity management, and statutory inspection requirements.
Ability to develop and write operating and maintenance procedures.
Strong coordination skills with project teams, vendors, contractors, and HSE personnel.
