Sightsavers Finance Assistant Jobs in Zambia; Sightsavers Zambia office seeks a Finance Assistant to support the Finance and Support Services Manager (FSSM) in planning, budgeting, reporting and information management.

The role collaborates with country office teams, regional colleagues and global staff to ensure effective financial operations.

Key Responsibilities

Funds & Payments

  • Analyse invoices, prepare payment vouchers and cheques for approval.

  • Process payments to suppliers and manage day‑to‑day funds.

  • Ensure payments are authorised, checked and supported with receipts.

    Accounting & Records

  • Process vouchers and journals into the SUN system for posting.

  • File accounting and financial records for easy reference.

  • Support staff in retiring travel advances per policy.

    Reporting & Budgeting

  • Submit accurate quarterly project reports to FSSM.

  • Support programme staff in budget reviews during activities.

  • Prepare monthly funds requests and track cashflows.

  • Follow up on funds transfer to partners.

    Audit & Compliance

  • Support FSSM in annual external audits and provide requested information.

  • Assist in implementing audit recommendations.

  • Uphold confidentiality of financial data and organisational reputation.

    Qualifications & Experience

  • Professional accounting qualification or degree in Finance/Accounting.

  • Programme finance experience within an NGO.

  • Background in auditing.

  • Experience working with government organisations.

  • Skills in financial management, programme/project administration and budget analysis.

  • Excellent communication skills (oral & written).

  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
