Duties and Responsibilities

Duties and responsibilities will entail: Maintaining inventory for all tools, Machines and equipment’s in the workshop/Laboratory; Prepare preventive maintenance schedules of the items; Ensure compliance with both Statutory and Institute’s Safety Protocol regarding operation of workshops/laboratory;
support the smooth running of the departmental workshop/Laboratory; Work hand in hand with the workshop practice lecturers when preparing
materials for practical lessons; Maintain work area,
tools/machines/equipment cleaners and proper operation

Requirements for Appointment

For appointment to this grade, an officer must have:

served in the grade of Laboratory Assistant I or in an equivalent position for a minimum period of three (3) years and be in possession of a Craft Certificate the areas of specialization from a recognized institution; OR Diploma in a relevant area or its equivalent qualification from a
recognized institution; and

Ability to use a full range of tools, machines and equipment’s in the engineering workshop or Laboratory. and

Proficiency in computer application skills from a recognized institution.

Knowledge of basic Auto CAD/Arch CAD will be added advantage
