Duties and Responsibilities

An officer at this level will deputize the Officer-in-Charge of a sub-county.

Duties will include:-

Supervision of all road construction and maintenance works;

Preparation of all work programmes for all camps;

Ensuring that all ledgers, work tickets, log sheets, returns, master rolls, daily activity cards, etc, for camps are properly completed in time and submitted as required;

Advising on the priorities for maintenance programmes and required distribution of plant, vehicles and staff;

Ensuring that all camps receive the necessary stores, materials, fuel and tools to undertake work assigned to them; and

Representing the department in interdepartmental meetings.

Requirements for Appointment

For appointment to this grade, an officer must:-

Kenyan Citizen

A Diploma in Civil Engineering or its equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.

Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field will be an added advantage

Served in the grade of Inspector (Roads) or a comparable and relevant position for at least three (3) years; and

Graduate engineering technical from the institution of Engineers of Kenya or relevant professional body/institution

Proficiency in computer applications
