Duties and Responsibilities

The officer will be the head of Forest Resources functions at the Sub-county level and will carry out the following duties:

Responsible for planning and coordination of all forest related resources, programmes, projects and activities in the Sub-county

Responsible for liaison with all stakeholders and players in Forest conservation, development and management in the Sub-county

Responsible for implementation, monitoring and evaluation of all Forest programmes and projects in the Sub-county

Responsible for analysis and presentation of daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual performance reports or any other reports as may be required by the Director of Environment and Natural Resources from his/her Sub-county

Responsible for dissemination of best practices in Forest conservation and management in the Sub-county

Enforcement of forestry regulations in the Sub-county

Ensuring effective and efficient integrated forest management in the Sub-county

Responsible for coordination of research in Forest conservation management and development in the Sub-county

Any other duties as may be assigned by the Chief Officer Water, Environment and Natural Resources or

Director of Environment and Natural Resources or any other office in seniority

Requirements for Appointment

Kenyan Citizen

Bachelor in Forestry or its relevant equivalent with required experience from a recognized institution

Master’s degree in a relevant field will be an added advantage

Registration with FSK or equivalent professional body

Certificate in computer applications
