Siaya County Director Job Vacancies in Kenya

Terms of Service:

3 Year contract or Permanent and Pensionable depending on age of candidate

Responsibilities

Shall be the technical advisor on all matters relating to primary healthcare services

Responsible for health planning, and implementation of strategies at levels 1,2, 3 and health programs

Initiates and promotes partnerships and collaborations with partners, and stakeholders
Puts in place a sound system for surveillance for early identification of Public Health risks and disease outbreaks throughout the County.

Puts in place systems and structure for rapid response to identified risks to Public Health and safety and disease outbreaks
Puts in place mechanisms for enforcement of Health regulations and Laws.

Performs any other duties as assigned by the chief officer of public health

Requirements

Must be a Kenyan citizen

Have a first degree in Health related field (Medicine, Nursing, Environmental health or Public Health) or equivalent, and be registered by relevant board

Be at least a holder of Masters’ Degree in any of the following: Public health, Epidemiology, Community Health, Health promotion and Education, or equivalents, from a recognized university

Have at least 5 years’ experience in management of primary health services

Have good communication, presentation, research and analytical skills

Certificate in Senior Management Course lasting not less than four (4) weeks from a recognized institution;

Certificate in Strategic Leadership Development Programme lasting not less than

six (6) weeks from a recognized institution;

Must be computer literate

Meet the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya, 2010

Mastery of Public Health program design and implementation practices.

Competence in monitoring and evaluation of Public Health programs.

Ability to think strategically with creative problem solving skills.

Additional Requirements

Clearance from the Ethics and anti- corruption commission

Clearance from the CRB.

Certificate of Good Conduct from the police
