Shining Hope For Communities Scholarship Coordinator Jobs in Kenya; SHOFCO is seeking a community‑oriented, grass‑roots based professional to ensure that Kenya’s most vulnerable girls receive the wraparound support they need to enroll, attend school, and thrive. The Scholarship Coordinator will manage SHOFCO’s scholarship program, drive re‑enrolment, and serve as “boots on the ground” support to scholarship recipients. The role will act as a bridge between SHOFCO, schools, scholars, and families, embedded within the SHOFCO Urban Network (SUN) approach to community organizing.

Key Responsibilities

Build and Manage Relationships

Liaise with SUN Committees and public school leadership to support onboarding and continuous scholarship recipient support.

Work with SUN and Gender departments to identify eligible students.

Collaborate with Scholarship Officer, SUN facilitators, and Gender teams to deliver mentorship and holiday programming.

Liaise with families to build capacity for supporting scholars’ learning and well‑being.

Build strong partnerships with local organizations and government institutions supporting vulnerable girls, including teen mothers.

Case Management and Scholar Welfare

Implement scholar welfare and serve as mentor to recipients.

Engage parents/guardians to ensure enrollment and address arising issues.

Identify and flag students at risk of dropping out or needing psychosocial support.

Onboard new scholarship students and families to programs and policies.

Partner with SUN committees to promote community ownership and accountability.

Escalate cases to Gender department when necessary.

Data Management and MEL Support

Manage recruitment pipeline and collect streamlined data.

Conduct data audits and maintain up‑to‑date scholar records.

Ensure timely submission of required documents by scholars.

Support data collection through home and school visits.

Plan and conduct home visits for scholars.

Maintain Scholarship Database.

Support Innovation

Contribute to process evaluations and improvements in program delivery.

Provide insights to enhance programmatic impact and efficiency.

Required Skills

Qualifications

Minimum Diploma‑level education; Bachelor’s degree an advantage.

Certification in counselling.

At least 2 years’ experience in educational programs or community‑based organizations supporting youth.

Strong interpersonal skills to build relationships with students, staff, community leaders, schools, and government officials.

High sense of professionalism, dedication, and results orientation.

Detail‑oriented and well‑organized.

Ability to thrive in fast‑paced, dynamic environments.
