Shining Hope For Communities Early Years Childminder Jobs in Kenya;To support the daily safety, hygiene, and wellbeing of Sankoré’s youngest learners. Reporting to the Head of Early Years, the Childminder provides dedicated care, supports classroom rhythms, and ensures every child feels secure and valued. The role embodies the “Siafu” spirit — industrious, humble, and committed to the common good.

Core Responsibilities

Student Care & Hygiene

Lead and support toilet training with patience and care.

Manage changing and hygiene routines in a clean, dignified environment.

Ensure constant safety and supervision during indoor and outdoor activities.

Monitor student wellbeing and respond to physical needs with warmth.

Classroom Routine Support

Support “Strong Start and Close” routines (greetings, circles, reflections).

Facilitate smooth transitions between learning activities.

Supervise snack and meal times, promoting healthy habits.

Assist with outdoor play and recess in a safe, inclusive environment.

Classroom Operations

Prepare and organize learning materials as directed by Lead Learning Guide.

Contribute to upkeep of classroom equipment and maintain health and safety standards.

Reporting, Collaboration & Professional Standards

Report directly to Head of Early Years.

Participate in professional development, staff meetings, and

planning sessions.

Support family collaboration through progress review meetings.

Model professionalism, confidentiality, and positive social interactions.

Qualifications & Experience

Required

High school diploma.

Proven experience working with young children in educational or childcare settings.

Strong knowledge of hygiene standards, toilet training, and safety protocols.

Excellent interpersonal skills for collaboration with teachers and families.

Commitment to fostering independence and emotional wellbeing.

Preferred

Certificate or Diploma in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or related field.
