  • The Head of Finance is primarily responsible for the overall finance activities to be done correct, timely and complete recording of all financial and logistic transactions in the company’s financial accounting system.

    Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Managing the financial and logistics transactions recording and reporting for the farm operations. this includes monthly financial reporting, input delivery for budgeting, forecasting, financial planning and all statutory financial reporting

  • Presentation of financial results and insights to the local management team

  • Managing and overseeing the farm related cash flow and ensuring it has the appropriate treasury controls

  • Managing and overseeing the local taxation affairs
    (people) management and daily control of the local finance department

  • Local investment appraisal and analysis in cooperation with relevant stakeholders
    Overseeing Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, local Tax, Treasury, Payroll, Financial and Management Accounting functions according to IFRS at the farm

  • Advising and implementing best practice methods in order to reduce costs

  • Support and delivery of financial input for budget preparation

  • Tracking budget and
    accounting information including billing, collections and tax information
    Financial sparring partner for local (farm) management

    Job Requirements

  • MBA in Accounting/Finance from recognized university and 4 years practical experiences, at least 2 years in managerial/senior position in commercial or business firms is mandatory.

  • Or BA degree in accounting/Finance from recognized university); extensive relevant working experience as financial (at least 8 years, of which 4 years as senior officer or team leader or department head); it is mandatory.

  • Demonstrable management, leadership and interpersonal skills;

  • Profound knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS);

  • Proven experience with contemporary finance & logistics software (ERP)

  • Experience in the horticulture sector (local and international); or other commercial firms.

  • Additional finance related training's are advantage.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in Afan Oromo, Amaharic and English.

  • Good computer skills with ability to use Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook.
