  • Society for Family Health (SFH) is a leading Local Zambian Organisation with programs targeting malaria, child survival, HIV and reproductive health. SFH’s work ranges from on the ground implementation of health services, and community programs to distribution of health care products and services to the most vulnerable populations. SFH also provides life-saving products, clinical services and behaviour change communications that empower the most vulnerable populations to lead healthier lives.

  • Society for Family Health is recruiting for the following positions. Please note that positions are for a 3 months period. .

    Communications Coordinator .

    Key Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Orient and assist the CAs in developing and managing District work-plan and conduct monthly meetings to monitor progress of achievement on projection and deliverables

    • Provide technical and administrative support to CAs in recruitment and trainings of Health Promoters (HPs) in the districts

    • Provide technical support to CAs in planning and mapping areas for IPC mobilization / HP distribution within health facilities catchments

    • Conduct monitoring and supportive supervision to each CA at district level on a quarterly basis. Ensure reporting on filing and records system and development of performance improvement plans for CAs

    • Check, verify/ back check and ensure timely submission of MIS and monthly communication reports by CAs.

    • Compile summary report of the activities performed by Districts, enter in the system and report back to IPC Officer/ IPC Manager

    • Contribute to work planning and report writing at regional level

    • Identify areas of improvement and conduct trainings/refresher trainings on supervision for CAs on SHARED model of supervision as well as ETL training

    • Actively represent SFH/Zambia with external partners and stakeholders, in particular with Government, NGO, FBO, CBO
    and private sector in external meetings such as technical working groups meetings, coordination meetings.

    • Determine quarterly IPC/promotional materials/IPC forms needed for his/her region and ensure distribution and management by CAs

    • Conduct educative presentations on SFH programs to defined audiences such as churches, universities, colleges and other high level institutions

    • Coordinate regional special events in consultation with other stakeholders (GRZ, CBOs, FBOs, etc) and monitor SFH mass media adverts and promotion activities.

    • Plan joint quarterly communication activities with RM, Team Leaders and service providers

    • Work in close collaboration with RM, FAO, MIS Assistant to ensure quality and uniformity

    • Write one quarterly success story

    Required Qualifications and Experience:

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Social Sciences

    • At least 2 years work experience in NGOs, FBOs, and CBOs implementing health related or HIV programs.

    • Experience in community mobilization with strong stakeholder engagement.

    • Experience in supervising, monitoring, training and working with volunteers

    • Conducting field assessment on the quality of sessions and messages at grassroots level.

    • Experience in focus group discussion, facilitation and communication skills.

    • SFH Work experience in similar area preferred

    Other skills and attributes

    • Good interpersonal and leadership skills

    • Computer literate, especially with the Microsoft Office package

    • Ability to work with minimal supervision

    • Team player, supportive and approachable
