Job Description

  • Senselet Food Processing is looking for ambitious, eager-to-learn and talented employees who want to take responsibility and accountability in actively build our company and brands.

  • Senselet is a Dutch-owned company making potato-based snacks and food products for the Ethiopian market and aims to become a leading food processing company.

  • Currently, our modern processing facility, using the latest European processing technology, is located in Tulofa, near Sheno town (65 km from Addis Ababa) while our office is located in CMC, Addis Ababa.

    Targets and deliverables

  • Involving and execute production planning
    Monitor overall inventory for the factory (input and output stores) and weekly reporting to management.

  • Manage security team (in collaboration with HR department), general service drivers, cleaning team, compound & waste operators and kitchen personnel (> 20 FTE)

  • Security management, kitchen management, waste management, cleaning operations and other facility related operations

  • Being first point of contact for visitors of the facility

  • Manage overall operations on the facility and use 5S-principle to organize the compound
    Effective execution of workers efficiency by supervising and monitoring factory employees and managing and optimizing attendance, overtime sheets.

  • Ensuring compliance to relevant government bodies on Social, Labor and Environment affairs.

  • Create a work environment with safety as the highest priority

  • Managing and implementing
    overall facility by leading construction of general compound improvements.

  • Plan, coordinate and control waste management system in close collaboration with the quality manager.

  • Responsible for minimizing the environmental impact of the factory as well as performing all environmental obligations to relevant government bodies in collaboration with HR

  • Any other tasks and deliverables as given by the supervisors (general manager and/or factory manager

    Education

  • Bsc. degree Food Science and Nutrition, Food Science and Post-Harvest technology, Food Engineering, Nutrition

    Experience

  • minimum 2 years of relevant work experience for a private organization in a management role, preferably in FMCG sector (e.g. food processing, brewery).

    Technical skills

  • good in Amharic and English (speaking, reading and writing), strong problem solving abilities, practical and technical thinker, good planner, good communications skills, 5S, basic knowledge on food safety, hygiene, HSSE&S. Ability to interpret blueprints, excel, specifications and schematics and provide improvements.

    Social skills

  • Proven people manager skills. Able to adapt and show responsibility under challenging circumstances, serious and hard-working, eager to learn, good feedback mentality, result oriented, proactive with strong leadership capabilities in a non-hierarchical organization.

    Entrepreneurial skills

  • proven ability and experience to learn about new developments in your field, flexible and autonomous working, leading by example and hands-on mentality.
