We have 50 years of experience working with smallholder farmers, farmer associations, cooperatives and agribusinesses across Africa to help farmers grow and sell more food, improve diets, diversify incomes and make their livelihoods more sustainable and resilient to external shocks.


SHA has been working In Kenya since 2005 Implementing rural development, sustainable food and livelihood security programs. Self Help Africa Kenya seeks to recruit a suitable candidate to fill the positions of:


The job role will be to ensure development of profitable smallholder farmer-led enterprises that are fully integrated into sustainable value chains within the SHA Country Programme.


The PC - Agribusiness will identify and support the growth of farmer business groups, cooperatives and farmer associations to develop and manage both on farm and off-farm income generating activities;


Identify and promote sustainable value chains; Ensure effective engagement of partners and stakeholders including private sector in supporting the achievement of Kenya Country programme goals and strategic objectives.


Essential Qualifications:


  • Minimum of Bachelor’s degree in Agri-business, management, or economics required;
  • Strong computer skills especially with MS Word and Excel and other related packages


    Knowledge and Skills:


  • At least 5 years’ experience in the implementation of agri-business/enterprise development projects, working with Lead Firms/MSMEs within value chains or related projects, at a similar level
  • Strong project management
    skills
  • Experience in facilitating the provision of business development services (BDS) to develop smallholder enterprises.
  • Experience in mentoring micro, small to medium enterprises
  • Strong training and facilitation skills.
    High level skills and experience in capacity building and report writing
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and team building skills
