Minimum Requirements

Skills and Qualifications

  • University Degree in Hotel and Hospitality Management
  • 4 years’ experience in the hotel industry in preferably a member’s club or well-established hotel at a similar role and comparable duties.
  • Communication – The ability to communicate clearly and persuasively, orally or in writing
  • Team orientation – ability to work cooperatively with other members of the team with a full understanding of the role to be played as a team member
  • People management – Ability to manage and develop people and gain their trust and cooperation to achieve results. Managing resources, people and events
  • Leadership – Capacity to inspire individuals to give of their best to achieve the desired results
  • Customer Focus – Looking after the interests of the club members and other guests and ensuring that their needs and expectations are met or exceeded.
  • Business awareness – Capacity to understand the business needs and priorities of the club and align team towards achievement set goals

    Job Specification

    Job Summary

    Our Client the Ruiru Sports Club seeks to identify and recruit a qualified personnel for the position of Food and Beverage Manager. The job purpose involves planning, organizing, controlling
    and guiding the activities in the F&B department so as to ensure the delivery of quality service to the club members and visitors with high quality services at all levels.

    The F & B Manager will also provide leadership to various club sections ensuring effective flow of service and high efficiency across all departments.The position reports to the managing committee.

    Key Responsibilities

  • Initiating and implementing the operating standards and procedures for the smooth running of the various sections
  • Ensuring the maintenance and the delivery of quality standards that comply with the health and safety measures for sections especially Kitchen area
  • Managing the staff complement so as to guarantee its smooth running and efficiency.
  • Managing the staff performance and career growth
  • Resolving members complains/ assessing members feedback and taking corrective measures
  • Giving guidance on new and innovative menus and services to meet members expectations.
  • Always striving towards an exceptional members experience with minimal complains
  • Ensuring proper planning is undertaken when organizing for club events and all menus, equipment and all items are available for good execution of events
  • Marketing the club services and products so as to achieve the financial sustainability of the club through quality services and menu available
  • Addressing members feedback and implementing the proposes changes by the managing committee
