Save the Children Specialist, Data Governance Jobs in Kenya

Principal Accountabilities

Implement and maintain data governance policies, standards, and procedures across the organisation.

Collaborate with business functions to embed data governance practices and build capability through training and ongoing support.

Develop and execute data quality monitoring processes, identifying and coordinating resolution of data quality issues.

Establish and maintain data dictionaries, business glossaries, and metadata documentation to ensure consistent understanding of data assets.

Support management of data governance forums and communities of practice to facilitate knowledge sharing.

Assist in defining and implementing appropriate data access protocols in partnership with IT.

Measure and report on data governance effectiveness, identifying opportunities for improvement.

Provide day‑to‑day operational support for governance initiatives.

Experience and Skills

Essential

Strong analytical abilities to assess data quality and suggest improvements in data collection and management.

Excellent problem‑solving skills to identify and rectify data inconsistencies and governance issues.

Proficient in stakeholder engagement, facilitation, and clear communication of complex information.

Familiarity with data management tools and database concepts; experience with metadata management and data quality tools.

Demonstrated expertise in Power BI, including handling large data volumes and building dashboards for monitoring and decision‑making.

Ability to work in diverse, inclusive environments with cultural competence.

Encourages innovative

solutions to data management challenges.

Desirable

Experience in data governance, data quality, or data management roles.

Involvement in projects requiring governance framework implementation.

Experience working in cross‑functional teams, influencing governance policies, and contributing to organisational goals.

Education and Qualifications

Essential

Degree or equivalent.

Desirable

Degree in Computer Science, Information Management, Business, or related field; postgraduate qualification advantageous.

Certifications such as Certified Data Management Professional (CDMP) or equivalent.
