Save the Children Safety and Security Intern Jobs in Kenya
Role Purpose
Provide coordination support on safety and security under the guidance of the Operations Coordinator.
Key Areas of Accountability
Liaise with Admin Team for visitor tracking and ensure all visitors receive security briefing prior to travel or within 24 hours of arrival.
Support Operations Coordinator in compiling routine security reports and updating databases.
Assist in compiling daily security information to facilitate monthly reporting and decision‑making.
Assist in planning and preparation of field visit support.
Update and maintain security/communication tree and conduct monthly tests.
Support staff in reporting incidents in Datix.
Support Operations Coordinator during staff training.
Assist in emergency and contingency planning documentation.
Ensure security management in emergency response procedures are documented and shared with staff.
Provide back‑up support to Operations Coordinator in emergency response.
Provide feedback to field staff on security inquiries; escalate technical issues to Operations Coordinator.
Inspect and evaluate workplace environments, equipment, and practices for regulatory compliance.
Perform any other related tasks as assigned.

Qualifications, Experience & Attributes
Bachelor’s Degree in Project Management, Criminology, Security Studies, or related field.
Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills including influencing and negotiation.
Strong cultural awareness and ability to work in diverse international environments.
Strong results orientation and commitment.
Proficiency in Excel, Word, and Outlook.
Strong work ethics.
Fluency in English, both verbal and written.
