Save the Children Safety and Security Intern Jobs in Kenya



Role Purpose

  • Provide coordination support on safety and security under the guidance of the Operations Coordinator.

    Key Areas of Accountability

  • Liaise with Admin Team for visitor tracking and ensure all visitors receive security briefing prior to travel or within 24 hours of arrival.

  • Support Operations Coordinator in compiling routine security reports and updating databases.

  • Assist in compiling daily security information to facilitate monthly reporting and decision‑making.

  • Assist in planning and preparation of field visit support.

  • Update and maintain security/communication tree and conduct monthly tests.

  • Support staff in reporting incidents in Datix.

  • Support Operations Coordinator during staff training.

  • Assist in emergency and contingency planning documentation.

  • Ensure security management in emergency response procedures are documented and shared with staff.

  • Provide back‑up support to Operations Coordinator in emergency response.

  • Provide feedback to field staff on security inquiries; escalate technical issues to Operations Coordinator.

  • Inspect and evaluate workplace environments, equipment, and practices for regulatory compliance.

  • Perform any other related tasks as assigned.

    Qualifications, Experience & Attributes

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Project Management, Criminology, Security Studies, or related field.

  • Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills including influencing and negotiation.

  • Strong cultural awareness and ability to work in diverse international environments.

  • Strong results orientation and commitment.

  • Proficiency in Excel, Word, and Outlook.

  • Strong work ethics.

  • Fluency in English, both verbal and written.

  • Commitment to Save the Children values.
