Save the Children Enterprise Technology Manager Kenya Jobs

The Enterprise Technology Manager is responsible for the management of IT infrastructure including Cloud Services, Networking, Field Technology, Identity, Database management and Integration platforms including facilities and equipment, both on site within SCI offices and hosted by strategic partners.


The role holder will lead a global team who will manage centrally deployed resources (core SCI data centres and cloud providers) and will lead a virtual team in countries who will be responsible for any locally deployed assets in country offices, as well as providing 24x7 support for all SCI Enterprise Technology.

The role holder is responsible for:

  • Managing the delivery of Enterprise Technology services to users of SCI shared systems, using SCI staff and strategic external partners.
  • Working with members of global, regional and country based IT teams to establish a common Enterprise Technology strategy and standards globally.
  • Delivering a reporting mechanism for IT infrastructure, Networks, Identity and Integration that promotes a high level of continuous monitoring and operational service excellence.
  • Ensuring that all SCI data and assets are backed up in a secure fashion and can be recovered to agreed Disaster Recovery timeframes
  • Driving the use of real time monitoring tools to proactively deliver services rather than reactive
  • Tracking infrastructure equipment assets, including cloud services, licenses and maintenance agreements.
  • Ensuring that SCI’s service level agreement targets are met on a day-to-day basis.

    Key Areas of Accountability:

    The role holder is responsible for:

  • Delivering a reporting mechanism for IT infrastructure, Networks, Identity and Integration that promotes a high level of continuous monitoring and operational service excellence.
  • Ensuring that all SCI data and assets are backed up in a secure fashion and can be recovered to agreed Disaster Recovery timeframes
  • Driving the use of real time monitoring tools to proactively deliver services rather than reactive
  • Tracking infrastructure equipment assets, including cloud services, licenses and maintenance agreements.
  • Ensuring that SCI’s service level agreement targets are met on a day-to-day basis.
  • Providing recommendations to optimize the global Enterprise Technology Stack collaborating with the IT Service Delivery and Architecture teams.
  • Managing the development and documentation of Enterprise Technology procedures, processes and standards, both in London and in regional and country offices.
  • Driving the automation of manual tasks such as creation of users in the AD, containers, and server images in the cloud to drive value and efficiency.
  • Driving the use of real time monitoring tools to proactively deliver services rather than reactive
  • Delivering a 24x7 support process through a mixture of own team members, virtual teams in regional and country offices and 3rd party suppliers as appropriate
  • Acting as a point of contact as required for emergency out of hour’s events and take responsibility for this service.
  • Providing line management to staff in various locations
  • Providing mentoring and coaching to IT staff in regions and countries on matters related to IT infrastructure
  • Ensuring the effective and efficient use of all Save the Children International resources, in order to keep costs low and also ensuring safety in the
    workplace
  • Compliance with the requirements of Save the Children’s Child Protection Policy to ensure maximum protection for children.

    Qualifications

    Desirable:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field such as Computer Science, IT, Finance, Mathematics (candidates without such qualifications will be considering if they can demonstrate appropriate technical skills as shown in the experience and skills section)
  • ITIL version 3 qualified.

    Experience and Skills

  • Excellent knowledge of infrastructure technologies and operating systems, both on premise and cloud providers (servers, storage, monitoring, networking, security, power, virtualisation, deployment, licencing, backup and disaster recovery)
  • Knowledge of current IT Service Management methodologies
  • Experience leading a team of system, cloud, network, integration and identity administrators in a global organisation
  • Experience in system administrator roles preceding management roles
  • Proven ability to manage a 3rd party supplier providing IT infrastructure monitoring and support
  • Experienced in problem management and service improvement plans
  • Experience of IT security policies and controls
  • A proven ability to evaluate, recommend and implement timely, essential improvements to existing infrastructure, integration, network and identity processes and services
  • Exceptional planning and organisational skills with ability to clearly communicate technical issues to a wide audience.
  • Good knowledge / experience in ITIL processes.
  • Excellent written and spoken English. Other languages could be a distinct advantage.
