In Uganda, we implement programmes in five thematic programme areas of Child Protection, Child Rights Governance, Education, Child Poverty, Health and Nutrition in Development and Emergency contexts.

The Awards Coordinator for the Education Consortium will be responsible for oversight of award management systems, coordination of reports and ensuring donor compliance is adhered to.
As a member of the Education Consortium Management Unit (CMU), the Awards Coordinator will provide support to the CMU and its partners to achieve its objectives in line with donor and organizational compliance.
This position will have frequent contact and engagement with Education in Emergencies partners Open
Kampala with frequent travel to the field (20 - 30%)
Qualification and Experience;Essential
A minimum of a Bachelors' Degree in Business Administration or finance management or professional qualification such as ACCA, CPA etc or the equivalent accrued working experience in a related position.
At least 2 years' experience with International NGO's
Experience working with international donors such the UN, ECHO, European Commission and DFID
Strong analytical skills and strategic planning abilities. Computer literacy and excellent documentation skills are a must.
Strong understanding of donor compliance regulations, donor contracts and agreements.
Experience working with partner organisations.
Financial and narrative report writing, review, analysis and compilation skills.
Significant experience working with and building the capacity of partners
Strong financial management competencies and literacy; understanding of accounting structures
Willingness to travel and work in hard-to-reach areas, occasionally under strenuous conditions.
Ability to establish and maintain conducive collegial relations and perform effectively as a member of a team.
Availability and willingness to work extra hours during times of humanitarian responses.
Highly developed cultural awareness and ability to work well in an international environment with people from diverse backgrounds and cultures.
Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills including influencing, negotiation and coaching
Excellent time management and planning capacity Desirable
Experience working on education programmes
Experience working on the refugee response
Previous experience in grants / awards management in consortium structures
Prior experience with Education Cannot Wait as a donor
