About the Role / Purpose of the Job

• To support production by providing effective equipment maintenance and reliability while adhering.

• to procedures/codes, and utilising all available support resources to increase stability and maintain.

• Sustainability of the plant and/or equipment.

Functional Outputs

• Do daily plant preventative inspection.

• Planning own tasks.

• Do preventative and repairs on plant equipment according to safety regulations, instruction and quality procedures.

• Conduct fault finding on mechanical equipment.

• Initiate pro-actives in maintenance.

• Must be able to do standby.

• Willing to work overtime.

Job Requirements

• Be able to work at heights, dirty and noisy areas.

• Actively participate in discussions that improve maintenance, quality and safety.

• Must be physically fit.

• Knowledge of emergency procedures.

• Must be in possession of a valid drivers license.

Qualifications:

• Grade 12/ N3 Mechanical.

• NQF level 4 Mechanical Fitter or equivalent qualification ex QCTO certificate.

• Trade Certificate will be an advantage.

Experience:

• At least 2 year’s maintenance mechanical experience

• Reading and understanding work management process

• Experience in variety of mechanical equipment,

pumps, compressors, drives, mechanical seals, gearboxes, heat exchangers, cooling towers, vessels and piping.

• Good interpersonal skills.

• Computer literate.

• Conduct fault finding.

• Identify trends and initiate solutions for specific equipment failures.

• Be able to do preventative repairs on plant equipment.

Behavioural

• Be able to execute tasks, with minimal supervision.

• Team player:- able to function in a large group of artisans, or a diverse group of disciplines.

• Be able to work under pressure.
