Job Vacancy:

Human Resource & Administration Officer

Job Summary:

The human resource business partner should have knowledge and experience in employment law, compensation, organizational planning, recruitment, organization development, employee relations, safety, employee engagement, and employee development.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develops and maintains a human resource system that meets top management information needs.
  • Administers benefits programs such as life and health insurance, vacation, annual leave, sick leave, leave of absence.
  • Coordinate management training in interviewing, hiring, terminations, promotions, performance review, safety, and health.
  • Responsible for recruitment, orientation, placement and retention.
  • Advises management on appropriate resolution of employee relations issues.
  • Identify legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting human resource functions and ensures policies, procedures, and reports are in compliance.
  • Identify staff training needs, develop and implement them.
  • Monitor scheduled absences such as leave or travel and coordinate actions to ensure the staff absence has been adequately covered to ensure continuity of Services.
  • Plan and conducts new employee orientation to foster positive attitude toward Company goals.
  • Administers performance review program through appraisals to ensure effectiveness, compliance and equity within organization.
  • Prepares reports and recommend procedures to reduce absenteeism and turnover.
  • Represents organization at personnel-related hearings and investigations.
  • Support, motivate and cultivate a culture of teamwork amongst all staff
  • Maintenance of office premises and ensuring renewal of necessary licenses, permits and insurance policies.
  • Prepare employee separation notices and related documentation.
  • Prepare and administer payroll.
    Online filing of NSSF & NHIF
  • Ensure compliance with the health and safety act by ensuring all employees have the necessary requirements needed.
  • Interpreting and administering contracts
  • Ensure all staff members are provided with the necessary PPE’s as per their duties.

    Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resource management
    Higher Diploma in Human Resource Management.
  • 3-4 years’ work experience in HR department
  • Must be a member of IHRM
  • Maintain confidentiality and discretion when dealing with people and records

    Key Competences:

  • Experience and knowledge of Kenya Labour Laws and HR policies
  • Ability in drafting HR policies and operations manual
  • Ability to take initiative, be pro-active and work under no or minimum supervision
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills
  • Good listening skills
  • Problem analysis and problem-solving skills
    Proactive
