Job Description

Maban County Hospital in Upper Nile State has been supported by Samaritan’s Purse (SP) since 2011.

Description of Job duties:

  • Contribute to the overall delivery of care at the hospital including tropical diseases, pediatric, obstetric/gynecological, medical and surgical care.
  • Responsible for daily ward rounds; as frequent as the patients’ conditions demand but standard is twice per day.
  • Assist with out-patient consultations. Must review all cases for admission and write out pre-admission instructions.
  • Supervision of junior hospital staff to ensure maximum use of their skills and potentials to ensure good quality health services are delivered.
  • Be available for calls 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

    Job requirements:

  • Maintains a personal relationship with Jesus Christ; is a consistent witness for Jesus Christ.
  • Degree in Medicine from a recognized University; post graduate degree in internal medicine/surgery would be an added advantage.
  • Must have a minimum working experience of 3-5 years post-internship in resource-poor settings.
    Strong coordination skills; flexibility, adaptability, and patience; facilitation and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and adhere to strict deadlines.

    Samaritans Purse Pilot/Mechanic, East Africa Jobs in South Sudan

    Job Description

    Samaritan's Purse (SP) is looking for a Pilot/Aircraft Mechanic to serve full time with its East Africa aviation team to be based in South Sudan.
    We currently operate the following aircraft types from our main base in Eldoret, Kenya: DC-3T, King Air 200, and Cessna Grand Caravan.

    Description of Job duties:

  • Files flight plans as needed or assigned.
    Obtains weather data and interprets data based on flight plan.
  • Completes aircraft weight and balances for flights.
  • Loads and unloads passenger's luggage in aircraft.
  • Keeps assigned aircraft charts and software updated.
  • Keeps the aircraft clean, neat, and polished when home and away from the home base including sanitizing the aircraft restroom facilities after each flight.

    Qualifications:

  • Maintains a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and is a consistent witness for Jesus Christ.
  • Maintain current aviation first class medical certificate and valid pilot's license (SEL & MEL) and FAA Airframe and Powerplant Certificate
  • Fifth year college or university program certificate; or two to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • One year of college-level Biblical studies preferred.
  • 2,500 flight hours, 1,000 of which as PIC.

    Job Description

    Samaritan's Purse is seeking a highly skilled administrative professional who enjoys fast-paced work with an eye for detail.

    Description of Job duties:

  • Complete background check, references and social media check for selected candidate.
  • Provide thorough and efficient communication between HR and job candidates, hiring departments, and other Samaritan’s Purse (SP) staff.
  • Assist candidates when they request information or status updates, whether via phone, email or in-person.
  • Responds or escalates in a timely manner.
  • Answers telephone inquiries, screens phone calls and responds to requests for information about employment opportunities. Greets visitors and directs them to appropriate area or person; assists with processing incoming mail and preparing outgoing mail and faxes as needed.

    Job requirements:

  • Associate’s degree or equivalent education and experience desired.
  • Two or more years of experience in human resources, recruiting, and staffing processes is preferred.
  • Attention to detail and the ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality is required.
  • A working knowledge of MS Office software, including Word, Excel and Outlook is required.
  • Knowledge of applicant tracking software is a plus.

    Description of Job duties:

  • Provide proactive and clear functional leadership across Samaritan’s Purse (SP) South Sudan for development and full coordination of all Monitoring and Evaluation Accountability and Learning (MEAL) events, practices, and M&E personnel.
  • Develop full, effective cross-functional working relationships with field based M&E Staff for MEAL and partner functions/sectors.
  • Participate effectively with MEAL networks, practitioners and learning/research institutions to access, research, evaluate and promote the best available external practices and resources in MEAL.
  • Lead and support assessments and operational research for contextual understanding, identifying opportunities, vulnerabilities, capacities and resources, deciding feasibility and setting priorities.

    Job requirements:

  • Maintains a personal relationship with Jesus Christ; is a consistent witness for Jesus Christ.
  • A Bachelors’ degree (BA) is required with a Masters (MA) in development related or economics and statistics being preferable and/or with 3 to 5 years related experience in Monitoring and Evaluation.
  • One year of college-level Biblical studies preferred.
  • Demonstrates substantial experience in a M&E or programming role
