Description of Job Duties:

  • Manages internal and grant budgets for SP South Sudan’s Ebola Preparedness Program.
  • Works closely with the International Health Unit (IHU) and Ebola technical specialists (at HQ or rotating into country) for any future Ebola programming needs.
  • Implements and manages Ebola preparedness programming in Juba and specified health centers in vulnerable towns identified by the South Sudan Ministry of Health (SSMOH).
  • Effectively provides training and follow-up for Ebola preparedness topics and skills, including Infection Prevention Control (IPC) Training, monitoring for suspect cases, and isolation center training.
  • Liaises and coordinates with government representatives, SSMOH, the National Task Force (NTF), other NGO staff, donors and partners regarding the advancement of SP programs related to Ebola preparedness programming.
  • Lays groundwork of relationships and networks that would be needed should Ebola become active in country.
  • Prepares and submits timely and accurate health facility and program reporting to SSMOH, UN agencies, cluster leads, partners, and internal reporting.
  • Builds capacity of program staff through on-the-job training and
    supportive supervisions.
  • Continually monitors and evaluates effectiveness of the program through quantitative and qualitative assessments.

    Job Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing, Water and Sanitation, Public Health or related field and 3-4 years’ experience in Program Management in developing countries/austere conditions, or equivalent combination of education & experience.
  • Twelve credit hours of college-level Biblical studies strongly preferred.
  • Experience in Health Administration and/or Management.
  • Experience in an Ebola context – either with extensive WASH or Health background.
  • Experience in implementing training and the ability to effectively engage students.
  • Experience in coordination with other international humanitarian organizations and UN agencies operating in complex emergencies.
  • Excellent management and personnel skills to enable the motivation, encouragement, and participation of the medical team.
  • Experience in conducting assessments, program development, and proposal writing.
  • Experience in Monitoring and Evaluation and health reporting.
  • Fluent spoken and written English required.
    Arabic language skills desirable, but not required.
  • Possesses strong interpersonal communication skills.
  • 5 month contract with the potential for renewal.
  • This is an unaccompanied assignment.
