Our client, a company dealing in Fire safety and security systems has an opening in the following position:

Sales Engineer

This role will be based in Mombasa with frequent travels to other parts of the country.

The responsibilities of this role entails the following:

  • Conduct discovery calls, qualify prospects, and attend site meetings with technical engineer(s) and technicians.
  • Differentiate company’s Product/Solution offerings to audiences. Clearly articulate features and translate to business value.
  • Deliver awe-inspiring technical product presentations and demos, provide timely and insightful responses to customer queries, and recommend creative ways Company can solve customer problems.
  • Preparing Tenders and other client proposal documents
  • Negotiating sales contracts with customers and ensuring their profitability
  • Assist in setting financial targets, budgets and monitoring
  • Streamlining lead generation processes enabling to chase leads swiftly
  • Act to acquire new customers and manage client relationships (new and existing)
  • Implementing strategies to drive revenue growth and profitability
  • Setting up meetings with prospective customers to sell company’s products and services
  • Working closely with technical team(s) to generate new business within large and/or existing accounts
  • Acting as key contact for large customer accounts
  • Forming strategic partnerships with other companies and/or bodies to leverage their existing networks
  • Monitor customer satisfaction with existing clients to ensure service delivery
  • Collaborate with and coordinate with technical team(s) and accounts department on billings and collection of receivables
  • Management and reporting of supplier contracts and terms
  • Build and maintain partnerships with key stakeholders in the industry
  • Attain a deep technical understanding of Company’s products and its competitive positioning.
  • Support installations, training, and ensure the success of customer POCs.
  • Understand and participate in answering the functional and technical elements of RFIs/RFPs.
  • Deliver sales and pre-sales training to channel partners.
  • Develop strong, long-lasting relationships with prospects, customers, and channel partners. -Be the customer advocate.
  • Create technical sales collateral (presentations, demos, tools, etc), collaborate and share with the technical sales team.
  • Clearly communicate customer requirements
    to the Product management team.
  • Maintain a complete and timely report on POCs and any assigned project.
  • Meet business objectives, working in collaboration with Sales Executives in the region.
  • Create database of competitive products and educate field teams.

    Qualifications

  • University degree in Engineering or a related field and
  • 3+ years professional level working experience preferred 3+ years of experience working with relevant Engineering fields as a sales person.
  • A strong desire to learn in a rapidly growing business environment

    Knowledge, Skills or Abilities

  • Proven track record of generating new business and achieving revenue growth
  • Communication: Advanced written and verbal communication skills. Must have the ability to build relationships over the phone and in person
  • Technical Skills: Thorough understanding of project works, site management, adherence to specifications, understanding of Bills of Quantities, interpretation of reports
  • Problem Solving: Superior analytical skills.
  • Must be able to work through complex issues with a methodical approach. Solid ability to graphically depict solutions in a compelling manner.
  • Work Style: Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Ability to work under pressure with tight deadlines. Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously. Must be detail oriented.
  • Computer Skills: Strong MS Office Suite knowledge and usage.
  • Ability to learn internal company systems and applications.
